I'll go to the US but I DO NOT want to resign. I will ask management if I can go on sabbatical for 6 mos to 1 year, enough time for me to look for opportunities. We are currently reducing headcount and if I am gone too long, there is a risk that I might lose my job and our new VP won't be able to stop it. Mahina pa naman yung powers ng new VP namin.

Sayang kasi my former VP in HQ used to work and had clout at our branch in NY and I could ask him help to get me a post there. The problem is I am not under him anymore at nagbabawas din kami ng tao sa NY branch.

I don't want to be dependent on my family for money especially since I am responsible for my second Mom. I really like my job and I'm not happy about letting go of one of the few good things in my life.

Wife and myself never bothered to change our voter's precinct (address) even when we moved to our new place more than 10 years ago, bro.

Now two of our kids vote in another precinct (our current address), while we still vote in the precinct where there are a lot of people who'd fight tooth and nail to be able to cast their ballots.... 😉

Also, entitled ka na ba for a sabbatical? And put into consideration na sabi mo, nagbabawas kayo ng tao. Pag nawala ka ng matagal, management might think that everyday operations are not hampered naman pala even with you not around.

In the company I work for, you need to have minimum number of years served before you are entitled to a sabbatical.

It's my 10th year next year Also, the last time I have been away a month was 2014. Since then, I have never been away for more than 1 week.

4 yrs na kong walang long leave. 2015 kasi nag start magkasakit 2nd Mom ko and I'm not comfortable being away from her.

haha good point doc. Just that we have 3 other LG LEDs with usage from 3-5 years and not a single problem. One year warranty on the Sony unfortunately.
