Wow! So nostalgic! We had a crown when I was young. That was the quintessential lolo/daddy car! :bwahaha: I find driving the gen 1 pajero more comfortable than the crown. Hehe.

Cathy, which crown was that? I had a gen 1 pajero before and I couldn't take the ride. It was the local version and it hurt my back during long drives that needed gear changes. I felt the shifter was kinda low for the seat.

I do not remember the year model. I will google image and see which one. It was a really old flesh colored crown either 70s or 80s. It had a very long and wide trunk. Well the hood portion was wide din hehe.

I like the Gen 1 Pajero because of the height and huge side mirrors. I had no problem manoeuvring it naman. My problem with the crown was it was wide and relatively low. I looked silly driving it. Hehe.

Ah I see. Might have been the 70s one as that was when those flesh colored crowns were abundant. I'd agree on the ride that it wasn't that comfortable. The one I have now is a 90 model and it's pretty comfortable both as a passenger and a driver. Still body parts for this aren't easy to get and unfortunately those were the ones hit. I've the extended bumper version and it doesn't look like it can be remolded anymore as it's made of plastic. I drove mine home after the accident with my driver as an escort on his motorbike. Drove straight still so that's good news for me. It's gonna be a long day tomorrow though on the phone looking for parts. On the upside, I'm tired and hungry after that and don't want to drive using the other car so I found an excuse to indulge in some North Park lechon macau over fried rice thru delivery. Don't want to end the day with a frown.

You're right it's a 1970s crown. I'm glad you're okay and your day ended well

    It was like this:

You like older cars? One of our cars before that I really liked was the Wedge. It's much smaller than the Crown. hehe.

    you're kidding!
driving the gen 1 pajero, is, to me, akin to driving an owner jeep on stilts.

whenever i like to ride a crown... there's hongkong and its taxicabs.

ha ha ha! Somehow I really like driving the 1980s Pajero. I find it really slow though. Is it just me or it is really slow?

Wedge like the corona wedge? If memory serves me right I think that's the early 80s model? Yep love them old cars. I started with a 78 corona during high school and when I was in college in the 90s, if bring a 69 280S Benz. Then after that a couple more of the late 70s W123 and W116 Benz. Fast forward now using a short of modern SUV from 07 but I prefer driving the crown. Funny incident in the 90s. I was using the 280S wherever I went. No major issues and I could squeeze in and out of tight spots. Then I had to drive an 80s Ford laser and park at the shangrila mall. 6th or 7th level. Despite the difference in size, that being smaller, I think my wheels hit those gutters more than thrice. Sheesh. Friends were laughing at me when I drive small cars. Just last month my brother in law let me drive their mirage. I actually had a hard time maneuvering it around.

it is/was slow! when it came out, we could out-run it in nlex, using our bone-stock air-cooled VW !

The Crown really brings back memories. I still like seeing the rare 3.0L models running around town.

My Lolo used those back in the late 80s before he took to the Pajero as well. We had three assigned to us at different times (as per Wikipedia, it was a S110 and S120). The S110s barely went over 100kph but the S120 had a 2.8 which fared somewhat better.

The Gen1 Pajero was slod slow indeed (NA 4D56. Whenever we went up to Baguio in our L300 VV, we'd stop at the Kennon look out point just to watch our Pajero climb.

Agree that aesthetic parts will be hard to find but i would expect the old time Toyota shops in Banawe or Masangkay may have something in stock.

That was what I found frustrating about the Gen 1 Pajero. It's good driving around the province. It's so utilitarian and perfect for hauling stuff

Yes Corona. I am not sure about the year, we had that car until the 90s. Your HS car? Is that the macho machine? Our neighbor had one in Maroon and it was so kinis and really a head turner.

My dad also got me an old car for college (the name is uncommon ) but being young and stupid, I blurted out that it was ugly and did not want an old car because I had my mind set on a Galant GTi

Long shot question,- and pardon my short memory,- if you have shared earlier...

Are you using gel-based air freshener? What's your typical thermostat and blower settings?

I had the 4 door variant of the macho. That galant gti was something I never got to drive. Thinking about it though. Parang masarap magbuo with full options.

Report na sa media yang altis mo. Tagal na yan ah

I ate too much again. And its only lunch time. And there's a christmas party again later. Oh well more cardio tomorrow.

I also saw a brand new, new look LC200 with qc avenue dealer plates. Just reminded me of the waiting game I'm playing. It looks better in the flesh I must admit.
