If the handbag is worth $1200, then $160 isn't that bad. Most imported handbags are at least 50% more expensive compared abroad. But then again, how are they so sure that it was bought full price? And it's obviously a gift if it's just one handbag. The store where I shop online once had a promo of free shipping to the PH, but the tax came out more expensive than the item itself. Thank you na lang.

Karamihan is a wrong term as lahat sila dyan puro kawatan. If you don't join them, your out! Yan ang unwritten rule sa mga taga-customs kaya everyone is happy. Kung maalis sila, they really feel very very bad kasi malaki mawawala sa kanila.

Now yang Balikbayan boxes ang pinunirya nila kasi ang kokotongan nila nyan yung mga forwarders para walang bukasan deal. At the end, forwarders will obviously pass the kotong charge to the sending OFW. So who said that the OFW does not need to worry if there's nothing contraband in their shipment ??? So at the end, only the OFW is the casualty of this new custom racket.

Worst, Malacanang is so idiot to defend this new scheme and too dumb to understand the entire scam.

I don't think they will increase the tax sa BB. Alam naman nila na sale kung bumili mga tao dito tapos iniipon na lang sa box.
