the recent heavy rains and floods have taken quite a toll of life in paniqui, tarlac. last night, just before midnight, bumigay yung dike and almost literally wiped out at least 5 barangays. i still have no word yet on the number killed but dead bodies are still being brought by choppers to the nearby Grand Stand, mostly children. the town mayor is in London, but was already contacted and i think on the way back. GMA was said to be going to visit the town today or tomorrow.

    god bless their souls.

Very tragic news... sana naman daytime nangyayari yung mga natural disasters na yan.. pag gabi kasi, karamihan tulog and defenseless na ang mga tao.. parang yung earthquake dati sa india, very early morning nangyari kaya nung umaga, libo libo ang patay.

15 barangays na pala ang affected! the vice mayor is alive and i believe is now presiding over the town council.

30 mins away ako from paniqui, tarlac.

actually, pinasukan din ng tubig yung isang property namin. malapit na kasi mag overflow yung irrigation canal so sinira nila yung sa side namin kaya binaha sa amin. kung hindi kasi nila ginawa yun, kawawa yung sa residential area which is on the other side of the irrigation.

When kimpoy visited UST last week, he was driving a new Toyota Vios.

Today, he texted me. Bubong na lang daw nung Vios ang visible when they recovered it from where it was parked...

boy i am surely glad that im driving an 4x4

Grabe... ser kimpoy, ask your uncle to check the policy. Don't know if floods are under "force majeure" or "acts of God", and whether they are listed as an exclusion from coverage...

    Sayang naman!

it is sad to know, that in every disaster, pagkakakitaan pa ng pera ng mga walanghiyang gov't officials.

An eng'r friend na na-assign in tarlac, relayed to me how his road project was stopped by the mayor.

Noting that they were building the canal on the road side, the mayor was seething, "kalsada lang pinapagawa ko, tsaka na yong canal, ibang project na iyon"

The mayor even ignored the benefit sa road na may canal sa side...

sorry din..there's a similar thread dito re: highlander na inabutan hanggang bubong ng tubig baha..this is very crucial where the fine prints of the insurance comes into play..

    covered ba o hindi?

its truly sad. bahay namin sa tarlac baha sa paligid, di naman inabot yung bahay kac pnatambakan muna yung kinatatayuan nya bago ginawa. pero as i've heard from my dad, may 6 inches pa daw na tubig sa labas (sa kalye). but at least nag-subside na rin due to the improved weather.

Hindi usually covered ang flood or riot damage unless you ask it to be included sa policy.
