under the mapua family...karamihan ng profs noon laging absent. first day at final exam lang kami nagkikita. halos lahat ng estudyante natutoto sa sariling sikap at takot na ma-kickout. at P1500/sem (1986~1991), i was able to finish my mechanical engineering course, a bargain for such a reputable school in engineering.

mapua now is owned by RCBC group, the same part-owner of de la salle university(?). kung gusto mo makatipid plus makuha ang magangdang alumni backup sa employment, i believe UST is better. but i believe UST is not better compared to mapua in terms of 'educational' training now. kung ano yung rate ng tuition fee sa la salle, ganun din sa mapua ngayon plus 4 terms a year pa sila.

afaik, mapua is the 1st school in the philippines to offer the B.S. Architecture (not associate degree) and thomas mapua was the 1st filipino licensed architect. the central post office in lawton, finance building in luneta, old senate building near manila city hall, la salle main building are just some of few landmarks that thomas mapua conceptualized.

Not sure sa UST, but in Mapua wala masyadong gulo like frat wars kasi di recognized ang mga fraternities dun, wala nga lang masyadong babes hehe. Nagkaron lang ng gulo dun nung panahon ko, kami ang sangkot sa isang basketball game and it's a free-for-all rumble hehe.

Balita ko nga 4 sems na sila ngayon, magastos talaga yan and less free time sa mga students. The only good thing is maaga ka gagraduate hehe.
