a clear line should be drawn to define what type of tourist being referred... kasi my wife almost come to visit me every other month.
however, she always secure the travel tax exemption certificate prior to traveling.
i still feel it's not right to show any financial statement to these BI officers.
let say that an authenticated financial support is required (from an embassy), then this is another burden to us because surely it will cost money and time to secure it.
di uubra yan. kung di ako nagkakamali labag yang ganyang requirement sa right to travel ng bawat pilipino and an elitist kind of rule. pano yung wala talagang pera pero pinamasahihan lang ng kamag-anak?

Waste of time lang yan. Magbabakasyon ka nga para mag relax tapos maaabala ka pa sa mga papeles mong ihahanda. Lalo pa sa processing nyan lalo na hahaba pila at tatagal pa procedure bago makapasok sa loob. Anu mangyayare nyan. Magdadagdag ulit nang counter for verification purposes kung eligible to travel or hinde.

Ganito sa pinas, you are presumed guilty until you are proven innocent.

The reason BI came up with this dumb idea is to curve human trafficking daw. So now they make everyone a suspect thus one have to prove his capability to travel. If this idiots in BI just use 5% of their brain as to how human trafficking is occurring, the simple answer is because BI & airport personnel are in cahoots with human traffickers. They are the one who does the escort service to evade this victims through proper immigration procedure.
Waste of time and money of 99% of tourist tapos yung gusto talaga nilang hulihin na mga mayayaman dahil sa illegal na racket eh kukunti lang. Aba, maling solusyon nga sa isang matino sanang adhikain.
Takte naman...paano yung utol ko ..jobless..but i will shoulder all expenses para makapunta sya dito for 6months....ibig sabihin pwede sya ma deny?...makakapal talaga mukha ng mga tao dyan sa terminal...garapalan hingan ka ng pera..

"Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says, in part, "Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.[15]" The Covenant was adopted on 10 December 1948 and, as of 30 September 1995, had been ratified or acceded to by 132 States, including the Philippines.[16] Article III Section 6 of the Philippine constitution provides, in part, that the right to travel shall not be impaired except in the interest of national security, public safety, or public health, as may be provided by law.[17]
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the main government agency assigned to monitor and supervise recruitment agencies in the Philippines, enforces a system of exit clearances for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).[18] OFWs are required to obtain a POEA exit clearance in order to be allowed to leave the country.[19] The process of obtaining a POEA exit clearances has been described in the Philippine press as a "nightmare".[20] In a Philippine Daily Inquirer piece dated 14 July 2011, Rigoberto Tiglao, Philippine ambassador to Greece and Cyprus, questioned the POEA exit clearances, opining that they may be unconstitutional."
