Nakagawian ko na mag-sponsor ng 10,000 rounds na sawa (paputok) sa aming kalye para pagsalubong ng aming kapitbahayan sa bagong taon.

Been doing this for the past 4 years.

    Less and less firecrackers......

We weren't able to buy our usual lusis for this year's celebration as we were busy assisting a new neighbor whose electricity supply failed a couple of hours before 12midnight. It is their first New Year in our village as they just transferred a few days ago....We learned about this as I was about to park our van from a New Year's Eve Mass...

Fast response thogh from Meralco.... They were attending the action report just before the strike of 12, and electricity supply was restored just before the New Year's revelry....

Go to our relatives house in Alabang and light up the judas belts, sawas, and the rockets and fountains, then have some champagne and san mig lights.

Basta pagkatapos ng December 25, hindi nako naliligo para mas malakas ang putok pagdating ng 31.

Tapos nagsisindi na lang ako ng Watusi or kaya Baby Rocket.

Buy a dozen varieties of fruits and prepare for media noche. Minutes before 12 midnight, turn-on all the lights in our house,- with the stereo in full blast. Then light our various flavors of lusis (no firecrackers). We make sure that at 12 midnight, our family is gathered in thanksgiving prayer for our media noche. Then, kainan na at kuwentuhan. This is one set of 'rituals' that I always look forward to ...

Here's wishing everyone a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!!!
