Hindi ba the term "ricey/riceboy/ricer" originated in southern california?

Asian kids would "mod" their civics to make them look "sporty" but end up really baduy. Non-asians would refer to those asian kids as riceboys coz asian staple food is rice.

the term then became popular among the import racer crowd.

then everyone started using the term.

then people who dont know what it means have to ask what it means and we have to tell them what the hell it means.

dito sa pinas ang mga rice boys makikilala mo kasi merong mga ganito:

1. sampayan ng labada sa likod, or yung mga super-laki na wings sa likod na wala namang silbi. imagine front wheel drive car tapos merong wings. (differentiate this from factory/oem rear spoilers that work to lower drag, ok.)

2. yung may malalaking exhaust, lalo na yung mga resonators na puro ingay lang. pag arankada gising pati patay sa ingay. all noise, no power naman.

3. yung madaming sticker. makikita mo sila dun sa SM sa may bandang center lagi na lang tumitingin ng sticker na ikakabit sa kotse. naglalaway pa yan while looking at the stickers. minsan tinabihan ko yung isa, trip lang ba, tapos sabi ko, "yan pare pag kinabit mo yan sa car mo dagdag 50% horsepower yan". tumingin lang sa akin ang kumag, hindi yata naintindihan hahahaha!

4. super lowered na rides na halos hindi makatawid sa humps! tapos pag lampas sa humps e arankada ng todo, bagal naman!

5. pag bumaba na ng kotse makikita mo vertically challenged sila. pandak na mayabang!

kasi FOUR OR MORE of the above. kung naka noisy muffler ka lang, one of the four lang yun

on the other hand... may nakita ako one time na kia pride with an "INTERCOOLER TURBO" sticker sa likod (yung parang sa paj). kahit isa lang yun, rice na yun sa akin! :D
