    quality items that are comparatively cheaper sa tate than sa pinas like;

    video devices:

    kids: gameboy/psp
    teenagers: ipod/ps2/gamecube/xbox/
    mag-asawa: dvd player/component

    or sports equipment:

    kids: rubber shoes
    teenagers: outfit/basket ball/volleyball/rubber shoes
    mag-asawa: badminton/tennis racket

or health supplements (multivitamins * costco for about $10+/- per bottle) which cost mga 5 to 10 more sa pinas.. (this is a big hit among my kamag-anaks esp the 400 i.u. vitamin E & fish oil w/c is at least 10x more expensive sa pinas)

or quality branded clothing * ross/marshall's (suki dito si misis eh ), pwede din towels, boxer shorts, sando, briefs or panties...

i used to bring lots of chocolates and other heavy stuff kaya lang konti lang mailagay mo sa box (2 boxes per person at 70lbs each sa PAL) so i opted to bring home a variation of the above items (i.e. relatively lighter) nung mga huli kong uwi.. pero kung meron handy man sa pagbibigyan mo, swak na swak ung mga tools kasi napakamahal nun sa pinas (mabigat nga lang kaya ako pina door to door ko na lng mga un)

hope these adds to your options.. kelan uwi nyo? advance happy & safe trip...

salamat ha. baka next week yung trip, as usual, madalian. napaalala mo yung supplies (supplements, toothpaste, etc), sa weekend siguro kami kukuha. nakuha ko na yung shoes ng mga bata. nagbigay na kami ng gameboy at dvd player last time. hirap nga yung 70lb limit, pero up to 6 boxes kami this time. sinusulit lang yung dadalhin sa apat na pamilya at maraming kamag anak.

    walang anuman..

I'd just give them money and let them buy what they want like the way my wife did when she visited last year. The Philippines isn't behind at all (and may well be more advanced with certain items) when it comes to gadgets, clothing, and shoes. Some items like R/C or scale model kits, airbrushes/compressors might make good pasalubongs. But, it's specific to a certain type of person (like myself ).

When my wife and daughter went last year, They each had 1 suitcase of clothes checked in. When they came back, my daughter had 2 while my wife had 3 (plus my mother-in-law's 2 suitcases). Baliktad pa nga..... That's not counting 1 further suitcase full of nothing but tuyo and daeng (her pasalubong for Pinay friends here).

uy... para sa amin ba yan? thanks! :kick:

though you could just shop at Duty Free Philippines to save you the hassle of trying to all those pasalubongs pass tighter airport security.

anyways, what you can buy there abroad is just the same here in the Philippines.

Electronic gadgets,- mura dyan, lalo na kung may sale at offer ng rebate:
    > digicam, videocam, bose speakers - on the high side.
    > puwede ring mp3 player(not ipod but branded like creative), frs (bawal yata rito dahil sa operating freq), wireless telephone with answering machine and caller id (medyo mura lang dyan kaso 110V)... isip pa ko....

    Let's compare.........

A PSP here is $200. A Nintendo DS was $130 last year (not including sales tax)... How much would those two be if I bought them in the Philippines? Also, would the US versions of those two be able to play games bought over there?

    ----------------------------------

Good suggestion from nemo's friend,- vitamins mura dyan! Bengay rin for the oldies... hit din yan!
