From a staggering 224 lbs., Aga Muhlach shed more than 50 lbs. in three months. A few more pounds less and Aga should hit the ideal weight (152-172 lbs.) for his 5'8” frame.

Well and good because excess (unwanted) poundage is definitely unbecoming on and for a romantic idol... isn't it?... especially since he has just started shooting his first starrer with Maricel Soriano, tentatively entitled I Don't Want to Let You Go, for Star Cinema (with Angelica Panganiban as co-star). It's not nice for Aga to look like a father beside the health-conscious (and slim) Maricel, is it? And definitely not, especially if you're endorsing a product like Quaker Oats.

Aga, turning 38 on Aug. 12, owes his present trim build to the six-meals-a-day diet prepared for him by former bodybuilder and fitness trainer Bobby Agustin who short of whipped Aga into toeing the line, or else...

Aga's amazing transformation is chronicled in a story written by Florian Cabuyao and Leah Remil-San Jose in the latest issue of StarStudio magazine. (Reminder: Grab a copy at the newsstand nearest you before everybody else does).

As early as late last year, Aga would tell anybody who noticed how huge he was that, just wait and see, he would “surprise” everybody in due time. And he did.

First, Aga was put on a rigid six-days-a-week workout program consisting of weight-lifting, etc. Nice. And then, wrote Florian, Agustin put Aga on a saltless/sugarless diet which proved too “punishing” for Aga who was (take note, past tense) a food-tripper. Also, you must remember that Aga comes from a family of healthy people. (His younger sister Arlene Muhlach is a heavyweight.) He backslid, and that's when Agustin screamed “Ay, grabe!” and “whipped” Aga into toeing the line and made him stick to the six-meals-a-day diet.

True enough, in three months, starting in January until end of March, Aga lost some 50 pounds and his waistline shrank from 38 to 31.

Now, Aga is ready for his pool scene with Angelica in I Don't Want to Let You Go. (O, laban ka?)

If it works for Aga, it might work for you, who knows?

Here's the six-meals-a-day diet (said to be high in protein; and zero in fat, salt and sugar), reprinted from StarStudio magazine:

    DIET RULES:

    • ½ Each meal is to be taken every three hours.

    • ½ No sodas or sweetened juice; just plain water.

    • ½ No serving sizes for vegetables.

    • ½ Green apple is the only approved snack.

    MEAL 1: 7 a.m.

    • ½ Six eggs, boiled (white only).

    • ½ Three cups Quaker Oats (plain).

    MEAL 2: 10 a.m.

    • ½ 100 grams wheat pasta, boiled (no sauce).

    • ½ 100 grams steamed fish

    • ½ Steamed vegetables.

    MEAL 3: 1 p.m.

    • ½ 100 grams chicken breast

    • ½ Steamed bean curd.

    MEAL 4: 4 p.m. (workout time)

    • ½ Five scoops whey protein.

    MEAL 5: 7 p.m.

    • ½ 100 grams steamed fish.

    • ½ Steamed vegetables.

    MEAL 6: 10 p.m.

    • ½ 100 grams chicken breast, steamed or boiled.

    There you are.

    Good luck!

He gets paid to loose weight...or rather he can command higher salary and get better roles if he loose the weight. See the ads? and write ups? Oh boy...mucho dinero yan.

Most of us naman PAY to lose the weight.
