    Probably there were Fire extuinguishers, part of the "renewal" of the Fire safety clearance that is needed when applying the annual Mayor's Permit. But most probably nobody knew how to operate it...:P. Most of those killed weren't even full time employees but pakyaw sweatshop workers...

    Also the company manufactures fakes was sued before by Havainas flipflops for copyright infringement...

    apart from the factory owner or owners, officials of OBO (office the building official under the city engineer) who are directly responsible for the implementation of fire-resistive requirements and standards for fire protection under the national building code shall be held to account over this tragedy.

    NASAMSAM ng mga ahente ng National Bureau of Investigation ang tinatayang P132-milyon fake Havaianas slippers at fake Casio calculators sa mgakakahiwalay na pagsalakay sa ilang lugar sa Metro Manila.

    Sinalakay ng awtoridad ang mga establisyemento sa Quiapo, Maynila kung saan unang nakumpiska ang 22,750 piraso ng Casio calculators na may halagang P18 milyon.

    Nakatakdang ipagharap ng kaukulang kaso ang mga negosyanteng nagpapatakbo ng sinalakay na R.B. Abalos Electronic Accessories and or R.A. Serrano General Merchandise sa B-48, 49 , 50 at 51 stalls, stalls B-94 at B-95, sa 2nd floor ng Plaza Miranda Mall, Carriedo St. , Quiapo, at units 410, 411, 415, at 416, sa 4th floor, Capt. Gonzaga Building, Rizal Ave.corner Carriedo St. , Quiapo, Manila .

    Sumunod namang sinalakay ng NBI agents ang mga tindahan sa Valenzuela, Caloocan at Quezon City kung saan nasamsam ang fake Havianas slippers na umabot sa 171,615 piraso katumbas ng P132 milyon.

    Kabilang sa sinalakay ay ang Kentex Manufacturing Corporation sa 6159 Kowloon Industrial Subdivision, Tatalon St. , Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City at Kentex’s main office sa 63 Boni Serrano (5th st. ) corner 8th Ave. , Grace Park, Caloocan City .

    Gayundin ang Jefferson Sales Center warehouse sa Ermin Garcia st. , Cubao, Quezon City; ParkLane Sales Center, sa Plaza Claire Building , 21 Susano Road, Quezon City; at Winner Footwear Inc., sa Block 3, Lot 10 Manchester Subdivision, Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City.

    Kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 8293 ng Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (Trademark Infringement and Unfair Competition) ang isasampang kaso sa may-ari ng naturang mga establisiyemento. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
