...wala bang ibang way to have it checked besides that DRE thing? 10 or more years from now di ko alam kung san ako matatakot, sa cancer o sa rectal examination.

There are labs test that can predict your chance of getting prostate cancer. PSA levels are most widely used for diagnosis of prostate cancer. Once diagnosed in its early state, almost 90% cure rate with a simple laprascopic surgery on an out-patient basis. Which means you get to go home the same day or 23hr hospital stay at the most, barring complications. Not a really hard problem to cure, once it is discovered. Men in their late 50's and older are encouraged to be screened more frequently. Early signs are insideous. Late signs are urinary difficulties and of course, bleeding on urination. When in doubt, check it out! Now that treatment is based here in the us, I really do not know what the current state of medical treatments are available in the philippines.
