Looking for mini

Hi guys! I'm scouting for a good mini. I think I want a 1300 (1275 right?), carburated (less complexities/problems eventually), manual transmission (life is short...enjoy! ). Saw a number of minis, very frustrating! Bad exterior, bad interior, bad engine compartment tsk tsk. Saw a number of restored minis... very adorable! Just afraid to know their price tags. I would recommend you and your Tito can visit AUTOMAX at Bautista near Emilia st in Brgy. Palanan Makati. They have a handful of PROPERLY- restored minis. They do have parts support and expert advice. You can check out their workshop along Zobel Roxas cor Enrique sts., also in Palanan. At least for your reference and basis for comparison.
They do resto works expertly. Accdg. to the right specs of your chosen set up.

ako'y nag college.. at naka graduate... nag trabaho.. nakaipon ng kaunti... hinde pa din ako maka-bile ng mini.. dahil hinde sapat ang budget ko...

Dapat mag shop around kang mabuti. Buy ka from reputable sources. 300t up depende kung sino seller at sino nag restore. umaabot pa nga 650t pataas. better you check the mechanicals at genuine resto parts and accessories. wag kang masisilaw sa paint job at sound set up at ni- leather interiors dahil usually eto mga nagpapamahal sa asking price. careful ka din sa registration papers ng mini na bibilin mo.

hi peeps! its me kev! actually, i started this thread before then i lost track of our forums 'coz i kinda lost interest on classic minis due to some people who tried to sell me very frustrating minis at wild prices. People like "winnie o."? Remember him? hehe. Anyway, i'm back 'coz i couldn't sleep well still dreaming of minis hehe. so now, i'm back!

Scenario: a friend selling me his '91 mini, 998 engine, M/T, restored to his taste, papers ok! Price around P280T
or
someone selling me any of seven minis, 1275 or 1300i, needs restoration badly, needs to be converted to LHD, '96 model, M/T or A/T, no papers at all. Price around P250T to P270T

What can u suggest?

It all depends on your budget. The 998 would be nice if you are on a tight budget and it is up to your taste, as you said restored to your friends taste. The seven (seen this) minis would be ok if you are prepared to shell out at least 200k more (probably more ) for the restoration,works and parts needed. I would go for the M/T units. I prefer to really feel the old school charm of a mini and driving manual is part of the experience. I have a 998 and am very happy with it. I've driven and owned 1275's and the extra torque is really nice but for the price difference would just stick to 998's. A good 998 with minor mods would be equal to a stock 1275.

Check with Batman din. He would know a few minis for sale din.

tnx rey rya! Happy new year! saw ur mini pic of ur mini...very impressive! too bad most japanese mini imports here are looking wrecked. it's good u found a nice mini to restore and start with ok rey rya, i will consider your suggestion

tnx miniracer! gud thing u saw the "seven minis" and have an idea. tnx! ur a big help. will greatly consider ur suggestion. im sure the 998's being a '91 will not be a disadvantage nor will make much difference vs the '96 "seven minis"
