"baby" benz nga ang tawag dito...
Kamala: Please don't expect prices to fall due to year, these cars don't follow the depreciation rule. You'll still see 1970's W123 in good condition fetching near the 300K mark.
someone at the office was selling exactly this.. a 190E 2.3L mga high 400k pa rin ang presyo eh. Bimmer nalang! you can get a newer E36 in the same price range.
i know naman that german cars dont depreciate as fast as japanese cars...wishful thinking lang yun (pampalakas ng loob para makaipon agad..hehehe)....di bale, as this threads go on and on, im pretty sure that i can see a light at the end of the tunnel (with all your helpful inputs of course)...kaya im more than willing to take as much info as possible...il be weighing things as they come..more inputs please...salamat dun sa mga nagcontribute na....
how much are you willing to spend?
i remember my friend saying they were spending around 50K a year for maintenance of their 190E which was why they decided to sell it ..
hmmm...sobra naman mahal pala kung 50k a year....i can source siguro mga 30k
i'm spending around 35k/year on maintenance of my old jap car. halos pareho din.. as i said, mga mid-1990s 316 are sub-400k na, and mid-1990s 320 (more desirable due to the inline-6 engine) are sub-500k. while mga 250k - 350k ang MB 190E which is a mid-late-1980s car.
i think for the same price (say 350k) i'd rather have a 1995-96 BMW 316 (nevermind the anemic engine) than a 1989 MB 190E. Malaki-laki din yung 6 years age difference.. although they say, the MB 190E was the last "built like a rock" Benz.
hi. just curious, how much would a '95-'96 BMW 3 series with an automatic transmission cost? pag A/T ata kelangan at least 1.8L engine di ba? TIAOriginally Posted by orly_andico

the question is, lalo na kung first car ---
what's your goal? kung ka-angasan, kahit mamulubi, OK lang. :D
pero if your goal is transportation, a jap car is more practical.
Is that the 190E Evolution bodykit? The best talaga yan.
Advice from me though - don't get a 190E if you don't have extra to make it look great and drive really nicely. Sayang lang otherwise.
Mercedes Benz does not follow the usually Jap car price pattern so its ok to buy one now and if you don't like it you can still sell it for the same or even higher price.

if pang everyday car,id go for the 190d..maganda ang diesel ng benz, though may pagka bagal nga.pero if pang everyday, going through so much traffic, mas practical ang 190d dahil matipid..pero if hindi namn pang evryday car, ok na ang 190e..pero nowadays, mas mabagal ang depreciation ng price ng diesel benz's compared to the gas, meaning mas mataas na resale value if ever you decide to sell it again..
for overall value, id go for the 190d..we have three benz's, a 260e, 300d and 280c.and hindi naman kami nahihirapan sa pag maintain even sa diesel namin na benz. benz's are very dependable cars, may it be diesel or gas.
hmmm..actually one of my dream cars is to own a benz, lalo na yung 124 body (190e specifically)...and by the way things are going, ang downside lang talaga is the maintenance cost of owning one,pag dating naman sa pagiging dependable, mukang unanimous ang answer that a benz is really such...and i believe that all dream cars have a tag price whether maintenance cost or the price of the car itself...
Kmala: Wala pong 190E na 124... W201 body ang 190 series...
To summarize pare... If you get a tip top condition Benz, yes it'll last you a long time, along with the solid feel and "dating" of a Merc...
Finding good mechanics and cheap parts will be a bigger challenge than Jap cars.
