Drey there's a good thread on the MBCP board about fuel consumption figures for various m102/m103 maybe even m104 engines. These are the ones found on the w124 and w201 models.

hey man....i just bought mercedes benz 190e 1987 cosworth model DOHC version 2.3 5 speed.

eto lang masasabi ko so far:

-gas consumption - medyo malakas ng konti compare sa jap 4 banger
-ang 190e ang problem usually ay iyong idle and leak sa mga vacuums(intake/fuel/etc). malimit ding magkaproblem iyong IACV na tinatawag(Idle control valve) sa intake din..and iyong OVP relay sa fuel pump naman.

- all in all hindi naman mahirap i maintain...first benz ko ito.

sa looks naman ay talagang hataw I think. daming compliments na receive ko so far.

problem mo din tsong ay sa Aircon...kasi mostly ay R12 pa ang system pero sa pinas baka di gaanong problem ito.

iyong suspension naman ay medyo may issues din minsan kasi may SLS(self levelling suspension) setup sa rear. buti di ko problem ito kasi lowered na ang car ko noong nabili ko.

specs ay:
2.3 190E 16valve DOHC Cosworth Head 5 speed
All black Recaro leather
Carbon fiber interior
Eibach lowering springs/KYB struts
K&N intake
Euro black taillight
Remus Exhaust

Nabili ko yan about US $2200

So far happy naman ako sa purchase ko. And I think sa Pinas mas rare yan...mahirap humanap ng 190e Sa pinas.

hindi laspag pre!! linis ng paint..jet black...alang body damage...
ang interior and recaro leather seats...walang rip...

kaya lang may mga little issues here and there...like stereos, AC, etc.

nalimutan ko the car came with : brembo cross drilled rotors, alpine alarm and pioneer Head unit. about 128k miles sa odo and Clean title!!!

Hello tsikoteers. Also a 190E Fan here. This is one of my dream cars. I've always wanted one pero totoo bang mahal na spare parts nito and yung maintenance? Sorry noob ako pag sa Euro cars.

If I were to pursue getting this. What will I expect? How much budget?

Some parts are expensive... but they last... for a very long time.
Some parts are not at par with Japanese makes.
