guys, i have a mb200 124body.
heres my problem.
i tried the radiator removed and have it cleaned. ok naman pero bumalik yung probs. i tried draining it then put it again, pero ganun pa din.
at napansin ku. dapat ba kung umaandar yung makina eh nag circulate yung coolant? napansin ku kasi, nilagyan ku ng cylco™ anti rust(see pic) parang white yung kulay, nilagay ku siya on top ng reservoir, so kulay white yung kulay sa top ng reservoir, at pag start ng sasakyan at nag drive ako, kulay white pa din. it means hindi nag circulate ang coolant.
please help me shed some light...

Good suggestion. Madalas hindi ito nabubuksan. Can lead to corroded drain plug and leaks.
Good idea din on the radiator cap. Mura lang siya not to have a spare. If the top radiator hose has collapsed, suspect the radiator cap.
Yung aux fans are activated by two to three things. Thermoswitch on the engine that triggers the aux fan to turn on if the coolant temp is high. There is a temperature switch on the AC drier, if the temp gets too high it also activates the fan/s. Lastly there is a pressure switch on the same AC drier, it has a pigtail plug, that also triggers the aux fans to turn on when the refrigerant pressures are too high.
The aux fan relays can also go bad, check mo sila sa fuse box area. Di ko kabisado W124, but it would be good to check all relays in the fuse box. I *think* the aux fan relay is orange in color.

July 21st, 2010 09:50 AM #6my only experience with overheating is a busted radiator cap. not maintaining a pressurized cooling system can lead to overheating. ive also used that cyclo anti-rust and your radiator water will be whitish in color for atleast 1 week. after that you will notice that your coolant reservoir will start to be filled with rust and that is how that stuff works. check the cap first if the spring still retracts. if not, just replace it and monitor how it goes. its the easiest and cheapest you can do at the moment.
