January 20th, 2010 10:41 PM #1My 230e misfires, stalls, drives rough, chokes, hesitates acceleration.
After days of finding out with different mechanics, we came to a conclusion that the spark plug no. 3 (always wet with oil and does not work after a few kilometers of run from engine start) is caused by a problem inside the valve or gasket (maybe piston). So, we have decided to have it overhauled. Now, would anybody care to share their knowledge:
-Where can I have my 102 engine overhauled/top?
-How much would it cost me?
-Who has experience having his benz engine overhauled?
TIA

January 20th, 2010 11:17 PM #2By the way, the spark plugs looked like the "oil fouled spark plug" in this picture:

McBenz: From where are you? If you're in QC, you might want to try visiting Mike and the Mechanics. Shop is located along Kamuning St. From EDSA, it should be on your right.

January 23rd, 2010 10:15 AM #5Pinasok ko sa sunshine motors yesterday. The mechanic did some troubleshooting on the fuel distributor. Okay na ulit takbo. After taking it home (Fairview) okay pa din sunog ng spark plug. So, I guess it's just the fuel distributor. Brand new daw nun pag nasira is 30k.
New problem: Exhaust Tunog jeep na sya... (paahon na jeep) And quoting from Mike Lugtu "tunog bangka"

Hehehe! Check this website out. A good number of co-enthusiasts has actually tried using their products (as an alternative to OEM muffler)

January 31st, 2010 09:54 PM #10ganitong ganito din nangyari sa w201 190e ko. eksakto sparkplug number 3 din yung nababasa ng oil after a few km of driving. . . . nagstart yung problema nung sakin, hard starting, after maayos yung hard starting, pumapalya na yung makina, then nadiscover ko na nababasa na nga ng oil yung sparkplug number 3. . . ang culprit bad valve seals, and since bubuksan na rin yung makina ko pinapalitan ko na rin yung mga piston rings and main bearings since malapit na ring bumigay para isang bukasan nalang. . . sa charon trading along congressional ave. ko pinagawa yung auto. . . mura na mabait pa yung mayari. . . 1 week nang nandon yung auto ko hopefully next week makuha ko na. . . look for charlie bro kung pupunta kang charon and tell him nirefer ka ni Jr Onia, I'm sure bibigyan ka ng big discount nun. . .
Choice I would have made as well.
