Have been reading about some owners converting their fuel system to EFI. Has anybody done this locally? If so, would it be a good idea performance-wise and where can we have it done?

converting from carb to EFI, is like converting m/t to a/t. better to sell the carb car and buy an EFI car.
but yes, it is possible to convert, but it simply is not worth it. unless you have a very special reason why you want to hold on to the car..

+1. The amount you'd "save" getting an injected MB is will be wiped out when you convert your current MB -- not to mention the hassle/trouble.... unless you have sentimental issues with your current, then maybe cost and the hassle would not be an issue.
