OT: Don't you guys have "groups" in Ateneo. I am wondering if you belong in the same as my Kuya. The taste in music is almost identical, it blows my mind! haha! I know back in the 90s people would lend CDs and copy to cassette I would be very impressed if you went to college post year 2000.
ah you mean the infamous college cliques? during my time it wasn't that apparent yet. or i just didn't notice because i was heavily into mountaineering back then. you can just imagine how bohemian we tried to be way back when so...we just didn't care

high school pa kami actually hiraman na ng compact discs and cassette tapes (hanggang tapes lang ako dati). a classmate of mine from cavite really turned me on into jazz music w/ the likes of stanley clarke, george duke, ewf, boy katindig, eloise laws, gene dunlap, etc. he used to do tape-to-tape recordings courtesy of his college dorm mates' eclectic collections and then we'd listen to them during lunch break or after class.

Yup! I like Luka too but Tom's Diner was more popular. Here's another song from Suzanne Vega that I like. I have it on cassette, from the Pretty in Pink OST:
