Yup, pero in an atheist's point of view it's positive.

    Just my drowsy formulated opinion.

Fact and logic are impervious to point of view.
I'm just stating that atheists negate (God).
    Even they themselves say that.

nope. the point of my original statement is that both atheists and Christians seek to raise their children according to a set of values that they hold dear. in one, these values are based on the one true God and His existence. for the atheists, the values are based on different things (one of which is the rule that you should approach life with healthy cynicism, especially about things that men say you should do in the name of God).

both sets of beliefs are familial institutions that are built up over years. my half-joking statement was that either side can be perceived as attempting to break down either institution (such as an atheist telling a Christian child that God doesnt exist or a Christian telling a poor atheist teenager that the law of God won't allow her to get an abortion). i didn't realize my Philo 101 was going to get tested :hihihi:

speaking of Philo, your attempt at refocusing the point of the argument to "affirmation" and "negation" - i believe that's called a red herring

ps - if you take your logic to its end, you are in effect saying that atheists have no beliefs or values, and their belief system is based solely on negating the existence of God. ask any atheist how close that is to the real thing ;)

I really find it funny that we're having such a lively discussion about a children's film that may or may not (in some unknown, hypnotic way) undermine the Catholic upbringing of little tikes... (simply because the books write about a Church that isn't always good... oh, it is? Sorry, must not have been paying attention during the middle ages...) when a few theaters down the row at the multiplex, they're showing a film (The Kingdom) that's even more offensive to Muslims...

    Oh goody...

Belief in God doesn't necessarily imply belief in the infallibility of religious institutions... ergo... I don't care one whit about what the movie does or does not show of the books.

Hey, they didn't threaten to boycott the "Rizal" movie, did they?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
