    Local promoter working on a U2 concert

    MANILA, Philippines - As talk persisted among internet chat groups that the Irish rock band U2 is set to play in Manila, Inquirer Entertainment sought to verify the wild rumor.
    The information we gathered was exciting enough to share with readers. “Yes, we’re working on it,” said an officer of Concertus, an events, concerts and marketing affiliate of MTV Philippines.
    Unconfirmed date of the impending gig is sometime in October (the e-groups have not mentioned their sources—the same month that the new U2 album is set to be released.
    Still composed of the original lineup it had when the band formed in 1976, U2 became a top international act with its anthemic sound—anchored by the innovative playing style of guitarist The Edge and the impassioned words and vocals of front man Bono.

    They do have a reunion tour and they played in Singapore last Feb 5. However, not sure if they will pass by Manila. Did watch Sting concert years ago.

    Sana matuloy ito. I remember last time the Red Hot Chili Peppers had sked a concert here pero di natuloy. Had to refund the ticket for that.
