That I can confirm from quite reliable source.

The source said Ely is a genius when it comes to lyrics but doesnt have the "social skills", aka "may ugali" or "moody"
(I already have this impression when they are still the eheads. Sa TV appearances, hindi siya masayang pakinggan sa interviews.)

And that the remaining three - Marcus, Raymond and Buddy - are real friends among each other.

IMO, Ely found success with eheads and stuck with them just for the sake of success.

Parang ganun nga, kasi yang si Raymond nagcocollab sa iba't-ibang banda din eh. Tsaka parang nabuo nga sila for commercial purposes kasi pinili ni Ely magagaling din na bandmates.

Though yung Rivermaya talaga ang sadyang binuo afaik. Parang nagcasting sila kaya magaling talaga ang group.

Naka-attend ako ng online session ng Parokya ni Edgar last Saturday.. Pinagtanggol ni Chito ang eHeads.. Super fan daw sya ng eHeads, wag daw i-judge si Ely.. Magkakaibigan naman daw ang eHeads pero outside sa band may kanya-kanya silang friends din.. Yung kanta na "Minsan", nataon lang na hindi about sa eHeads yun kung bakit nagawa yung kanta..
Favorite ko sa Raimund sa eHeads.. Pero gusto ko din naman yung angas ni Ely.. Gusto ko yung yabang niya, dagdag pride ng banda.. Yung level na established sila at hindi pipitsugin.. Ok lang din sakin na di siya sociable, kaya naman ma-balance ng ibang member ng band..

May issue dati na he and his partner were judged by there manager (?) after being late for a gig IIRC. The other three allegedly did not back him up. di ko na marecall buong kuwento, but I remember thinking he had a grudge because of things like that

Oo nga, maraming interview noon na sinasagot ni Ely na walang reunion na mangyayari.. Sa pagkakatanda ko pa nga parang na-bad trip sya dun sa isang interview kasi ang banda nya noon ay "Pupil" pero ang tanong about eHeads Reunion.. Hehe
May tsismis pa nga na meron sila hindi pagkakaintindihan ni Raimund Marasigan kaya hindi niya tinutugtog sa gig yung Huling El Bimbo.. Pero tsismis lang din..

Ironically, Ely is the odd man out in his own band pala. The other three are also band mates at baka friends pa sa isa't-isa.

Eraserheads - Wikipedia

In 1989, two college bands from the University of the Philippines Diliman were both in search of new members for a new group. Curfew, which consisted of Buddy Zabala on bass, Raimund Marasigan on drums, and Marcus Adoro on guitars met up with Sunday School, which consisted of Ely Buendia on vocals and Raimund Marasigan as session drummer in December of the same year. Ely's first two college bands, Bluidie Tryste and Sunday School, were too unstable, so he posted an audition notice on a university message board. Only Raimund, Buddy, and Marcus showed up at the audition. According to an interview with myx, Raimund said he first auditioned as bassist while Buddy as the drummer. But they noticed that it did not sound right, the two switched places.
