Japanese, korean, malaysian and chinese technology ang nexus. in short CHOPSEUY
guys read this article by sarne on the day of the launch.... meaning...hindi pa siya pumupunta sa launch ganito na siya magsalita.
now whether the rodriguez guys are goons too i wouldn't know...pero isn't this asking for trouble? this guy has a rep for thinking he can play god with car manufacturers, distributors...pati nga competitor magazines binubully niya.
i'm happy he got smacked!![]()

i dunno about bullying, but to me, there's nothing in what he said that would justify being beaten up by the nexus people. sarne simply stated his own opinion, and i think it's an opinion that many people hold.Originally Posted by itchywitch

a brand is much more than the product. and purchase decision is something that involves far more than the functionalities of the product. if sarne criticized the hover as being slow or clumsy, for example, without having driven it, then that's something else... but saying that he wouldn't buy it because he's not comfortable with the brand is very much valid, even if you may disagree with it.

I got this from a very good friend who is an Auto Journalist:
the rodriguez bros used to deal with audi cars but they lost it so now they're importing "Great Wall" (china made) cars and that event was a launching of the china cars, re-branded as nexus for the phils. and Vernon wrote in his article (before the launch) that he thinks china made cars have safety issues and that if he already has a bias against korean cars, how much more for a china made car.
and the drunk rodriguez were mad about the article so during the launch they demanded he retracts his statement by threatening to "shoot a bullet" at him, or that something bad will happen (with shoving and pushing) (vernon said it was only his opinion but he's still willing to test the cars) ... another journalist overheard them and tried to placate both saying that vernon's entitled to his own opinion and that everyone should leave it at that.. next thing, rodriguez' bodyguards hit that journalist (not vernon)... (take note: none of the journalists were drunk, just the rodriguez)
so another car journalist who's a lawyer by day will assist vernon and the other journalist for FREE in filing charges against the rodriguez brothers
the plot thickens
Amazing. You know, i never saw a chinese brand car when i was in china last month.
Sabagay, i was in shanghai.... medyo western ang culture compared to the rest of the country.
