The vatican first explain the roots of the "Twisted Crucifix" and the reason why the pope is still using it before picking on H. Potter book.
First the bible, now H. Potter. What next?

Wow sweet 16 na pala.... ehehe. Di na me mag-cha-chant, mag-gawaing Satanist nalang me. :evillaugh
i don't see satanism sa movies...although i'm not reading the books. witchcraft is not satanism naman db? it's a worship of nature.
Parang meron konti satanism.. medyo sobra na kasi yung magic nila hehehe tapos lalo pa yung mga creature character sa movie.. iisipin mo talaga na devils ang gumawa hayyy parental guidance nalang pag na nonood mga kids
JRR Tolkien the author of the Lord of the Ring is a devout Christian and was heavily influenced by his religious background in his writing.Originally Posted by nugundam93

As to Rowling, she denies being a Satanist.
Of course, Satan is the master of entertaining deception and the god of this world (1 Corinthians 4:4). Kaya ingat lang talaga on what you feed your children's mind or yours for that matter.
Ingat nga... which includes anything taught to you by religious books and institutions... kasi puwede ring na-pervert din yan ni Satan... :evillaughOriginally Posted by 4wrider
Tolkien's religious bias is not often noticed because of his very involved mythology, but his black-and-white view of moral issues is very Catholic in nature. C.S. Lewis's books are more bluntly religious in their theme. This turned some people off of the movie "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", but I found it okay.
J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter series may be worrying for the Vatican because of the slightly more complex morality involved, as Potter struggles both physically and mentally with Voldemort, and the growing influence Voldemort has with Harry. Having a hero with an "inner demon" probably doesn't sit well with them, and admittedly, the later books in the Potter series aren't just "kiddie" books any more.
But as long as the good guys win in the end, and hold the moral high ground (they always do in kiddie books), what's the glitch?
Pope Benedict is indeed a throwback compared to John Paul... what's sad really, is that he was an adviser of JPII, wasn't he?
Oh, for those looking for "religiously safe" fantasy books for kids, try Madeleine L' Engle's "Wrinkle in Time" series. Very Christian, but not overtly or overbearingly so. At least not in the first two or three books. The last one in the series takes place in a Hebraic setting already.
But if you're not after spiritual development, Brian Jacques' books will teach your kids that cute little animals killing each other with swords is fun.![]()

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
well, IMO, i really don't wanna talk about religion especially if they have to mix it with movies. Coz, what's really the point? Movies are just a habit so we can have fun if we are tired, unwind minds and the like. Religion is soooooo not related. It's like playing football and all the audience are cultist.

why, Harry Potter even looks like the devil!!
you want proof?
For me the message being sent by Harry Potter "I LOVE MAGIC" is quite misleading........
The vatican said IT COULD LEAD TO SATANISM not HARRY POTTER IS A SATANIST. The vatican wants to establish CAUTION while reading books with such nature. I don't see anything wrong with that.
There's nothing wrong with the Vatican issuing caution per se.Originally Posted by jim
