Sa mga Bisaya, hindi lang dila matigas!
Seriously, Pinoys should stop referring to people in Visayas and Mindanao as Bisaya. Cebuanos, Ilonggos, Waray, Boholanos, Davaoenos, Cagayanons, Zamboanguenos, and others are as different as Bicolanos to Cavitenos to Bataguenos to Kapampangans to Ilocanos. Even Filipino Muslims are as diverse - Tausog, Maranao, Maguindanao.
Parang Game of Thrones din yan - iba't ibang tribo.
Duwa Sa Mga Trono namani, mga bai![emoji13]

I have roots in Cebu, was born and raised in Caraga, and spent the early 90s in Davao before I moved to Manila.
Malingaw ko sa change in dialects while traveling from one place to another. Naay distinct differences pero magkasinabot man gihapon. Sa dorm after a while magkasinabot na ang Ilonggo ug Bisaya.
BTT: Can't wait for episode 3![]()
My dad is Chavacano from Zamboanga while my mom is Ilonggo from Negros. I grew up in Davao where I adapted the Davao version of Bisaya (more words from Tagalog, Ilonggo, and other dialects). Aside from the usual Bisaya dialect, I am also fluent in Ilonggo but I have never bothered to be fluent in Chavacano.
While in the US, some people would ask me if I’m Colombian. Nabuing sila, Bisayang Dako ni!

Bai, sabi ni misis mestisong hilaw daw ako kasi hindi daw ako balbas sarado. Layo ko naman kay Jon Snow. Hehehe
Quite true, my dad’s family is a descendant of a family of Guardia Civil soldiers before the turn of the 19th century that decided to stay with their Filipino wives when the Spaniards were kicked out by the Americans. I guess these soldiers were so amazed with their exotic wives that they didn’t bother to go back home to Andalucia. Hahaha

Kutis Kastilaloy ka naman talaga bro. Magpa 23 and Me ka kaya? Baka may konting Korean kaya walang facial hair.
Gusto ko rin subukan yung DNA test kasi sa Japan akala Hapon ako. Sa HK akala Chinese ako. Pag Kinoreano ako sa trip namin to Korea talagang magpapatest na ako.
Bro, the best is for you to learn Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Para di na problem kung kakausapin ka ng locals doon sa 3 countries na yun.
I'm as Filipino as the rest of us. Most of us came from multi-cultural heritage except maybe for the Aetas who has kept their tribe pretty much in tact since their roots of the people long ago (pre-historic Ice Age) when the Philippines was still connected to mainland Asia.
