    I was informed that FHM U.S. has just made is final issue. Someone said that this may be due to the internet. Apparently certain magazines cannot compete with it anymore. First of all you can see chicks for free on the net so why pay?

    So you think online activity will be killing the magazine industry and soon other old school media channels?

    Both foreign and local FHM issues can be downloaded for free. Just go to your nearest providers such as, manilatonight.com and bncxe.org.

    I've heard rumors of their closing since January.

    Wonder what will happen to FHM Philippines? Their sales seem to be decent, but this development might scare off advertisers who weren't aware of FHM USA's troubles.

    Plus, developing 100% local content is difficult... especially if you have to meet quality standards... though the quality of FHM's photoshoots of late has been questionable. Too little on-site art direction, too much photoshop.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Eh... the only thing FHM doesn't show these days are the "beavers" ... whoops, di na uso yun... puro "shaved" na... that Playboy shows.

    In fact, I'm appalled at how much skin FHM is allowed to show, and they sell these at Magazine stands in malls?

    Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude, but the form of nudity in these magazines carries negative connotations and stereotypes, which adversely affect the social inter-relations of younger, more malleable minds. (it's disappointing to see how many young men nowadays see women as ***ual objects ONLY)

    As a "Catholic" nation, we're so gung ho about nudism in movies, where you can deny entry to minors, why do they allow it on the streets, where any minor can pick up an FHM or a tabloid, or one of the many FHM wannabees (RED, etc) and see women in all their glory? FHM should be sold with those cover protectors, like they use for Playboy and other *aherm* Men's magazines. That would actually allow more nudity on the cover... and even more inside... Playboy Philippines, anyone?

    Then maybe I'd buy it.

    There's a sign, but is it followed? And FHM has full nudity on the front, yet they're not forced to display their mags with concealed covers (like Playboy or even the Tattoo mags).

    Much like those warning labels on cigarette packs or those 'Drink moderately' signs on liquor ads.

    wondering too if it affects the phils. here kasi we know that they have a wide circulation. something totally unheard of til they achieved it. is that going to help keep it going? because for advertisers it is all about circulation.

    Maxim = less bar girls...

    To be fair, I don't read either mag that much, but it does seem that Maxim has decent non-nude-picture content to back up the girly pics.

    Some of FHM's articles are "meh" in the Top Gear Philippines vein.

FHM closes in the U.S. Is the internet killing some magazines?
