Considering how small-Willy hasn't really learned despite his past misdeeds and sanctions, I'm all for imposing a stricter penalty this time, so that he will truly regret and think about his actions.

Forced absence ni small-Willy? Walang kwenta eh, ginawa na dati, di pa rin natuto.

Show being banned on air for a specific period of time? Now, we're talking. Kasi pati network affected dito, so you're sure they're gonna be watching like hawks for potential problems.

PANA issues advice on 'Willing Willie' case

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) will allow its members to decide whether to pull out advertisements from “Willing Willie,” which has been accused of child abuse.

Jollibee Foods Corp. earlier suspended ad placements of Mang Inasal in the television show.

PANA, in a letter to the head of a consumer’s group on Facebook, said it had informed its members of the concerns raised by various sectors of society regarding the “Willing Willie” controversy.

PANA sent to its members copies of a letter-complaint regarding the show’s March 12 episode wherein a crying 6-year-old boy danced like a male stripper.

“We are sharing this information to our membership consistent with our mission statement which states that: PANA aims to be an association of advertisers providing leadership, guidance and support in the promotion of effective, truthful and responsible marketing communications, championing self-regulation, consumer protection, values formation and the advancement of the practice of marketing communications to global standards,” the organization said.

“With this information, we trust that our members will be guided accordingly on the best decision to take,” PANA added.

The Commission on Human Rights and the Department of Social Welfare and Development earlier said that the incident is a clear case of child abuse.

The National Youth Commission of the Office of the President has also issued a resolution condemning the incident.

“Mr. [Willie] Revillame must be reprimanded, held liable for his misdemeanor and be asked to issue a public statement acknowledging his lack of sensitivity on this whole incident," the commission said.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is currently investigating the issue.

In its latest briefer on the case, the MTRCB said TV5, where the show is being aired, “should be able to impose punitive sanctions on the program and its hosts, which can range from a reprimand to a cancellation of the TV program itself, in the spirit of self-regulation.“

“The MTRCB is determined to resolve expeditiously this case of paramount importance,” said board chairperson Mary Grace Poe Llamanzares. – Reports from Mario Dumaual and Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News; ANC

they don't care about exploiting children bec. they don't understand their sanctity and respect. they don't care about the family in the hetero***ual sense.

that's why i'm telling and telling all along, once we allow these types to get out of their closets , society will go to the dogs, ethics thrown out of the window.

sa facebook lang eh, kala mo kung sinong mga santo-santa kung mag-shout out puro lord lord, the lord is at my side., hindi ba nila alam up to now the Vatican does not recognize them bec. the Vatican knows what happens to society if they are given power and influence

When all is said and done, the big question is, how did Willie Menyek become such a swell headed monster? Who allowed it? We can look at:
    1. His previous network for allowing him to continue w/ his show even after the Ultra stampede. Imbestigasyon, suspension, apologies, absuwelto, and on with the show. Mauulit na naman kaya ito?
    2. His previous and current networks for allowing him the "artistic freedom" and "allowances" to "treat" his contestants to prize money while being subjected to degradation (grabe kung alaskahin ang mga contestant pag napag-tripan niya).
    3. The sponsors and advertisers for looking the other way despite his past misdeeds, for as long as he was bringing in the ratings.
    4. The televiewers and live audiences for enjoying this form of entertainment, even defending him for being their version of Robin Hood: taking money from rich sponsors so he can spread it among the poor.
    5. The rationalization of the poor. It's abject poverty that makes them go through all forms of humiliation for the financial rewards. Same reason that they give for becoming drug mules. Same reason holduppers give for stealing money.
So when all is said and done, the real question is, have we become a damaged culture? Can we still fix it?

not in our generation ... not a single tsikoteer today will be alive when that happens

so yes, we are a damaged culture ... and it would take generations to fix
