Eric Quizon and I are co-executors of Dolphy's estate, says Zsa Zsa Padilla

    MARLON ANTHONY R. TONSON July 14, 2012 7:35pm

Rodolfo “Dolphy” V. Quizon had named his long-time life partner Zsa Zsa Padilla and his son Eric Quizon as co-executors in his last will and testament so they can manage his estate after his demise.

As co-executors, both of them will administer and conserve Dolphy’s properties and other assets until his estate has fully paid all his outstanding debts and his remaining properties have been distributed to all his heirs.

Interviewed by Lolit Solis on GMA’s entertainment show Startalk, Zsa Zsa said she and Dolphy’s son Eric Quizon had been managing the finances of the beloved comedian in his final days, and the both of them will continue in that capacity.

The money they have collected and any income generated from such funds accrues to the benefit of Dolphy’s estate. In other words, Zsa Zsa and Eric will not get any monetary benefit except for allowances from managing the estate. They can still receive any inheritance Dolphy bequeathed to them in his will.

But before Zsazsa and Eric can continue managing Dolphy’s finances and property, the last will and testament of the Philippine “King of Comedy” must first be produced and certified as genuine in what is known as “probate proceedings” in a court of proper jurisdiction, which depends on several factors provided by law. — ELR, GMA News

Mahirap masabi since maraming pamilya si Pidol, magdedemandahan muna yan. Hopefully di magaya sila sa mga Revillas na papatayan all because of money... I wonder if MVP will still keep Pidol's children in Ch.5's payroll since wala ung reason to keep them there.

IMO, I don't think the family of Pidol will go to the level of the Revillas, just from observations. I'd still believe they're better then that and in most cases, generally maayos yung magiging pag settle ng estate.

I remember an interview with Erap during the last presidential election campaign, Erap was asked how he feels when Dolphy campaigned for Manny Villar, Erap said: "naiintindihan ko yan si Dolphy, kailangan niya kasi kumita" its not the exact words pero yun ang tema

Dolphy has only ONE legitimate child, and she's legally adopted. Her rights outweigh everyone else, even if there is a last will and testament.

The adopted 22-year-old daughter of the late Rodolfo “Dolphy” Vera Quizon may very well inherit half of the late actor-comedian’s estate, leaving the other half to be shared by the 16 living children he sired without the benefit of marriage.

Since Philippine laws on succession prioritize legitimate children, Nicole Quizon – legally adopted by Dolphy in 1990 – gets a much bigger inheritance under the law than any of her siblings.

Lawyer Toni Coo of the law firm Coo & Partners explained to GMA News Online that under the Domestic Adoption Law, a legally adopted child is considered legitimate. Coo & Partners specializes in succession cases.

“In this situation, since Nicole is the only legitimate child, she will be entitled to half of the entire estate of Dolphy,” Coo explained.

The rest of the Quizon brood will divide the remaining half of Dolphy’s estate among themselves, Coo said, citing Article 895 of the Civil Code.

Lawyer Angelo Cabrera, Executive Counsel of AMC Law Office, which handles estate and inheritance-related issues, agreed with Coo’s opinion.

“If it is true that Nicole is indeed legally adopted, she does get half of Dolphy’s estate,” he said.

Dolphy had 18 children with six different women. His fourth child, Freddie, died in 2005. According to law, only the living can inherit property from the dead. However, Freddie’s three children are entitled to his share.

According to Dolphy’s memoir, "Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-isa," Nicole Quizon, Dolphy’s 17th child, was legally adopted by him, making her the only legitimate child in the brood since her siblings were born out of wedlock.

“Si Nicole, dinala sa akin sa Hizon’s, at gusto raw ng nanay, sa akin mapunta. She was just a few months old,” the late comedian wrote. Nicole's family and friends also call her Coco, the second to the youngest of Dolphy's children and sent by Dolphy to Australia for her college education.

“Nakilala ko ‘yong ina. Gustuhin man niyang bawiin ang bata, hindi puwede. Legally adopted e,” he added.

Dolphy’s long-time partner Zsa Zsa Padilla and his son Eric Quizon have revealed that the comedy king did leave a last will and testament, of which they are co-executors.

However, both Cabrera and Coo said that Dolphy’s will might not even be followed.

According to Philippine law, leaving a will does not mean that a person can freely distribute his or her properties after death. The law requires a portion of the deceased's estate to be reserved for certain heirs called "compulsory heirs." In this case, the compulsory heirs are Dolphy's children.

Cabrera explained that whatever is in Dolphy's will, which has not been divulged publicly, the law already requires half of his estate to go to Nicole, and the other half to her siblings. Nothing of Dolphy's estate would be left to be given out by will.

Coo further pointed out that the mothers of Dolphy’s children are not entitled to inherit from him.

Zsa Zsa diagnosed with kidney cancer 40 days after Dolphy’s death
    By Edwin P. Sallan, InterAksyon.com · Sunday, August 19, 2012 · 4:25 pm

“When life situations get rough, I find myself taking deep breaths… And I am ready 2 take on new challenges. Living life. One day at a time.”

That was Zsa Zsa Padilla’s tweet early Sunday morning as news broke out that the already grief-stricken partner of the late, great Comedy King Dolphy had been diagnosed with stage 1 kidney cancer.

Earlier reports stated that the 48-year-old singer-actress was conspicuously absent at the Mass for the 40th day after Dolphy’s death held Saturday because she had left for Los Angeles to seek medical treatment.

She consulted doctors at Cedars Sinai Hospital after her doctors at the Makati Medical Center had detected an abnormal growth in her kidneys.

Zsa Zsa told ABS-CBN News on Sunday that a certain Dr. Folkes, her doctor at the Los Angeles-based medical facility, told her that she has a malignant growth the size of a golf ball.

“The first time I saw Dr. Folkes, he immediately told me it was malignant. So when I heard that word ‘malignant,’ I said, ‘Oh man, I have cancer.’ I went back the next day for blood work and a scan and it showed the same thing — almost a 3 centimeters growth — and he advised for it to be taken out,” Padilla said.

News of her ailment took everyone by surprise, including the very people that form part of her extended Quizon family.

“I just heard about it too,” Ronnie Quizon, one of Dolphy’s 18 children, admitted to Interaksyon.

“Whether it’s confirmed or not, I think, with a little help, it could be cured. I have a friend who was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer before, and now he’s completely cancer-free. We even had common friends who were praying for him before, and have passed on even ahead of us,” Ronnie added.
