you should install a program like Ad-aware of some spy removal tools. These cookies sometimes install a program that redirects you to differernt sites which are other than what you specified in the address bar.
If you look in your task list in the processes tab, sometimes there are programs running in the background that are unusual or you've never seen before, this normally would be a site redirector, or one of those pop ups that come up even if you don't type anything as long as your connected to the net.
(if it's not one of those annoying site redirectors and those annoying pop up ads, it could also be a trojan)
