test driven 2 hyundai tiburons:
first - lots of wear and tear but good otherwise. idle fluctuates when driving and ac on and car is stopped. i decided to pass since we cant get any inspection done. we met at a hyundai dealership and was told would take up to 4 hours. the seller sold it later that day.
second - i rushed to see this one after i was told "excellent in/out," and "needs nothing" as a response to my typical questions. major scrapes around the car, door handle missing, interior looks like a bomb exploded inside, and the car has been in an accident. the seller kinda unusual (wont drive the car, let me drove it to a mechanic by myself). after inspection and about $1200 estimate to fix the car that "needs nothing" i came back and offer very low to be rejected. it worked and i went home. he called back but i didnt answer. the words that came from him after i informed him about the "excellent" condition of the car sounds like a typical car salesman who dismisses everything wrong with the problem. the car was in his dads name, i figured he was trained to say specific things.
lately, im eyeing at two cars and may decide very soon. i appreciate any thoughts/feedback on this:
1. 1995 240sx se (s14) rare concord gray color 82K very low miles and in very good condition for $5K. the dealer specializes on 240sx's and aware that the car is hard to find. final price, taking to a mechanic not allowed since he had parts swapped or stolen before. i see his point.
2. 2000 g20 (p11) bronze color 77K miles. feature wise same as my last one on the thread with some slight improvements. excellent condition in and out. $6900. if i make an offer on this, ill go for $6K.
