Same engine as my 91 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo a 4G63BT with 190hp (crank) stock. An HKS Stage 4 mod brought it up to 280hp (crank) which is really too much for a 2700 lb, FWD car with no LSD. I don't even want to guess how much hp the HKS Stage 8 will bring.
The original Mitsu turbo was replaced by a bigger Garrett turbo along with a Centerforce clutch.
Those old modded Hyundai Sonatas that can do 13-sec 1/4 miles have the same 2L engine/mods. That Gallant should have no problems being modded to the same specs. Checking around the web, there are Gallants with 750hp at the wheels using well-modded 4G63BT engines!
Add: Maybe I should treat these 4G63BT engines like gold. I have 2 of them in storage (in case I wreck the engine of my Laser again).
Add2: Yep. Some Hyundai Sonatas did have the 4G63 engine.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; September 22nd, 2006 at 07:47 AM.

I imagine not just a fully-built engine, but transmission and suspension mods as well. I was just looking at some DSM sites and was surprised that some of these Eclipses/Talons are up to 800 hp. It's pretty common to see those cars in the 400hp range. But 800 hp? I looked at some tuner sites and sure enough, they're selling parts for 750hp Galants.

Or none of the above? We've had Ferraris and Lambos burn in SLEX and NLEX in the Philippines...
