Torque... well the Owner's Manual said that I should be easy to my first 1000 km and not to race the engine. However, I was tempted and finally gave in... I had it run for 4000 RPM and I thought I was driving a gasoline engine!!!

It seems that almost all the range of gear has that capacity to give that feeling of "great power". Well, I haven't tried it but it gives me that impression.

Good thing that CR-V SX wasn't available. No offense to owners of CR-V. I myself owns a CR-V 98 model. It is just that there is no way to compare CR-V SX with Mazda 6 when both are running at 3000 RPM before changing gear.

Thank you to all of you who shared your experience with your Mazda.

    CTEK battery charger

It seems that the nuts for the battery terminals cannot be removed. I don't want to force it as it may be designed that way. So my alternative is to cut the CTEK terminal then connect it to the battery terminals

I can't put pictures here, I'll ask my son about it later.

... or you can just use the clamps to charge ... it's easy to do ... think of the dust that might accumulate inside the plug / socket ...

Comfort-connect is way more convenient & has a plug cover. You won't need to get the clamps from the trunk & you can charge w/ bonnet closed.[emoji4]

Yes, I totally agree. That clamp is bothersome. It's just that I couldn't wait for another day to buy another nut that I decided to cut it open (how foolish of me). And when I already connected it, I had this conclusion that the casa might consider it as a modification and void the warranty.

Well, the damage has been done. And besides that, the connector is still fully operational.

No damage done, really. That's a practical install option. Batt conditioners keep batts healthy longer & gremlins off.....they shouldn't void anything.[emoji4]

Sir you should also try WOT or "pedal to the metal". It gives you another level of power compared to just "babying" the pedal.

That's what they also told me. Any wiring connections done other than dealership install will void the warranty of that specific system. But that didn't stop me from installing a sub.

I want things the easy way (or should I say I'm a bit lazy)... so I cut the CTEK terminals and when I already connected the negative side and tightening it, I realized that the casa might consider it as modification.

So I removed it and decided to use the clamps. I was outside so I didn't see your post.

Still, thank you for your suggestion.

I just confirmed with them, it will be better to use the clamps. I think they want to play it safe, perhaps some guys out there are not that much for technical details. I really don't know, it's just a terminal connection and absolutely no modification will ever be made with this charger.

Just remove the comfort connect prior to PMS & dealership visits. Not only will clamps scar your terminals, contact won't be as good as Comfort Connect. Grab 2 extra nuts to sandwich the CC rings for easier removal.[emoji4]

A few days ago, I met my father together with my brothers. We went around the place and had a good lunch. Then my younger brother and I encouraged our father to drive. He declined the offer, saying that he doesn't want to drive it as he might decide to buy a new one. Of course, he really admired it. According to him, the interior is great. For those who say it's just the same with the interior of Mazda 3, I think I have to agree.

Yesterday, my relatives saw this Mazda 6. They all admired it from every corner. Well, it's an exaggeration. But they all agreed that it's a good looking car. For those who are not that familiar with different car brands, some thought it was a Mercedes because of its broad stance ang long body. And whenever I say that it's a diesel engine, they always give me a surprise look.

I've overheard one of them said that for a 2M car, he would rather buy an SUV. I didn't argue... and I fully understand the sentiment. Besides, I own a CR-V 98 and somehow I know what a family man has in his mind. However, he is missing the point. Unfortunately, I don't know how to point out what's his missing.

I'm no expert, sir. Just here sharing the joys of discovery & Mownership.[emoji4]

There is nothing else I can say, you really need to own a Mazda 6 to appreciate what this car can give you.

Needs & wants vary from 1 to another. What matters most is happiness.[emoji4]
Grats, sir! Your 6 packs a lot more value than what you paid for.[emoji106]

I always hear that all the time. Some would say they'd rather buy an SUV and a compact car rather than my CX-5 diesel. I just smiled back.

I just went to Mazda to have it checked for its first 1000 km. Just last night when I used the volume knob a felt a "harsh sound". Then, the mute button is no longer responsive. You need to press hard to turn on /off the mute function.

I'll see today or tomorrow what they'll do about it. I just hope that nothing else is wrong and it can be restored to its original condition.

I saw yesterday a CX-5, it's grill is different. Instead of fins, it has a black screen with the logo in the middle. And it's RED! It's so beautiful, a totally different shade of red... and how I wish I had this color with Mazda 6.

Regarding colors, one thing I've come to appreciate with machine gray is that it doesn't look dirty compared to red. I have this meticulous routine with my old CRV that I always dust it off. However, I can't do this after a long travel and I hate to use a car that is full of road dirt. With my machine gray, this isn't much of a "problem".

My only comment is that machine gray doesn't stand out with other gray variants like Honda and Hyundai. It takes a keen eye to distinguish machine gray from others. Or perhaps I haven't seen it in sunlight side-by-side with other gray variants.

Machine gray has a "classy" effect overall... but I think I'm just griping that I didn't get red.

The grass isn't really greener on the other side. Machine Gray looks awesome.[emoji106]

    * Archerfish:

I think you are referring to the Soul Red Crystal. That's an optional color for CX-5 just like the Machine Gray. I know it's also available on CX-9. That's the color of my CX-5. I waited for 5 months for that color and the diesel engine.

Yes, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence... or is it not? Now, I'm confused.

I'm referring to that red variant, but it isn't available. Anyways, I'm happy with machine gray.

Perhaps five years from now, I can afford to have it changed to red. But then again, I might mess up so I think I'll stick with this color.

Congratulations to that red, and the same thing goes for my machine gray.
