The good sir Nelson has the new CX5 SkyD. A good bud has the diesel 6. Heard no complaints. I wish he were here to reply 1st hand.[emoji4]

It's good to know that they don't have any complaints. I think it was foolish in my part to rely totally on reviews without seeing it up close. Well, I feel I'm running out of time because of the excise tax.

My concern at the moment is where do they put their phone while driving? I use Waze to navigate Manila. I remember looking at the interior of Mazda 3 and the dealer said that it looks like similar to Mazda 6.

CX-5 SkyD. In general, no additional "needs". Installed Huper ceramic from day 1. Having been born in our 3rd world country, I couldn't ask for more. But if you listen to 1st world problems or comments, you'll hear something about the CarPlay, Android Auto, I wish I had lighted door sills, bigger side mirrors etc. Nothing that would tell me not to buy the diesel CX-5. Other people countries even envy us because they don't have the diesel variant. I don't want to brag about the torque but it's best you test drive it yourself. G-vectoring is perfect for me. She loves accelerating on turns.

May I ask about this Huper ceramic, what is it? I've read about ceramic coating and glass coating. And somewhere around this forum is a problem about skipping wipers. I hope you can share your experience.

I never heard that problem though sa ice i think they're having problems. Alam ko proprietary ata ang wiper arm and blade natin. Though I like the auto wiper feature. One time when we went to Baguio, there was a pool of water from the other lane. There's this very fast bus who ran on the water causing the dirty water to splash all over the windshield. Tada! Auto wiper. Since then I leave it at auto mode and adjust from there. Same applies with the headlight auto mode.

Posting my message here where it is supposed to be:

Last Sunday I filled up with Euro 5 diesel at UniOil. It's supposedly 5x lesser sulphur hence perhaps cleaner fuel, lesser DPF contaminants and hopefully lesser regen cycle.

Yes, I'll switch to this one. This is generic and covers the CX-5 and Mazda 6

Fuel consumption for Mazda 6 diesel variant is 15 km/L. Mostly highway driving, moderately aggressive driving style. I think it's possible to reach 18 km/L if I'll be driving at economical speed.

    i-Stop

It's a very nice feature. It is somehow annoying at other times, perhaps because I'm not used to it.

I observed that it is possible to "control" i-Stop by varying the way you depress the brake pedal. If you fully depress the brake pedal, i-Stop will work. If you depress it just enough to stop the car and maintain it that way, i-Stop will just tell you that it's ready.

i-Stop is a great feature to reduce air pollution. The fuel saving is just a by-product, a bonus in my opinion. The only drawback is the cost of the battery. A deep cycle battery will cost you 15k.

    Hello,

What's that "funny smell" coming out from the exhaust? I don't smell this kind of "scent" in trailblazer, Sta fe, and Tucson. Of course, I don't smell it with L300 and others. So I'm really curious...

Thank you. I just wonder, will this ammonia be depleted? I think it's similar to Volkswagen that they have a separate tank for an additive (not sure what it's called) and injected into the fuel line.

I haven't read the whole Owner's Manual yet so I don't know the details.

The Volks thing is Euro 6. May separate container for that that helps burn diesel.

What you smell is the regen cycle where our diesel engine normally does to dispose off the particles/contaminants that was filtered and burned by the DPF. actually our 2nd gen is slightly better than the 1st. gen because the 1st gen needs to wait for higher engine temperatures before it regens.

I see... so this Mazda 6 is equipped with DPF. And the problem that I've read somewhere (I think Australian article) is first generation.

If I may ask, is this Mazda 6 I purchased is 2018? The dealership said it's 2018 and the difference is in the interior.

Well the dealer also said my CX-5 is also 2018 but I don't see any difference. Though I've read somewhere that the 2018 CX-5 has rear sensors for perimeter warning. I cannot be sure.

    How's the torque?
