akala ko din mahirap mag hanap ng parts. you just have to know where to buy one.
the Familia is a good car. better than a same age, say,.... wag na lang. alam nyo na yun.
im happily driving a Familia, di pa top cond yung akin.. it is a rewarding driver's car.

Get one sir, it's one of the most feature-packed models in its class, at a good price now since Mazda resale value now is relatively lower than the more popular Japanese brands get the high end model (GLXi) if possible, because this already has ABS and driver side airbag. Had a chance to own a 97 GLXi, and I'm quite regretting I had to sell it, only because we needed a bigger car Things to watch out for in choosing a unit are erratic idling, usual culprit is dirty or at worst damaged MAF sensors, and rust at the rear fenders(sakit talaga ng 323 ito). For parts hindi naman talaga mahirap, mas mahirap lang talaga parts ang Toyota or Mitsu You can also join Mazdatech.org, maraming kang matututunan doon at maraming tutulong sa iyo

January 21st, 2010 02:22 PM #16323 is a cool vintage car. But I don't know first hand if how much additional repairs you need to do to satisfy your need. It basically boils down to "passion" if you really love the Mazda 323 then go for it.

i suggest, magsama ka ng mazda expert na mekaniko pag i check mo yung familia. things to look for: erratic idling, rust sa wheel well, matigas na clutch (manual), engine leaks, a/c, radiator/cooling system.

i also actually thought that the familia is a good car too
ang mga mazda daw, maganda ang handling but dunno if it's any better than its rival civic. mazda has the reputation for good handling but not too good engine i think.. for power the civic wins hands down (especially the B16) but maybe the 323 beats it in handling. but i'm not so sure of this. if anybody could at least confirm...

February 3rd, 2010 01:03 AM #20pasingit na rin mga sirs, im planning to buy my first car a 97 mazda familia glxi for around 140k. which do you think is better gen 2 or 2.5?
sa tingin ko aesthetically mas pogi ang 2.5 dahil clean and simple ang front end nya.
downside lang daw talaga with mazda'z is its fuel consumption,
compared with other brands in the same class and year, how true is this? TIA
is this the gen 2? with airbag daw....
is this the gen 2.5?
wala na yata sya airbag dahil nag palit ng steering wheel or sadyang wala talaga?
