A Bimmer enthusiast bud, who has had a good number rare Ms pass thru his hands, happened to carpool in our humble hobo. His first inside the wannabe. He was pleasantly surprised at how familiarly euro the ride, layout & everything felt. I recall the exact sentiment almost half a decade ago upon testing the gen3.
Then he asked of the service history....shook his head & expressed how he wished Europeans would learn to build w/ Nippon reliability.
The 3...fun Bang4Buck...hobo premium. Look at the gen4, they upped the ante.[emoji4]

Yeah, the 4th gen interior looks very nice, I like the sedan compared to the hatchback, sadly the 2nd row is still a little cramped.

    There are pros & cons....
If cost shaving were its main reason, Mazda could've just retained & shared the exact same rear suspension from the BM/BN 3 to save on redesign, retool, & production costs.
We knew Mazda's thrust w/ the Skyactiv chassis was lightening. The BM/BN came w/ practically no deadening to keep dead weight down. NVH was the consequence much complained about. To reduce it w/o adding weight, the beam, being lighter & quieter, is the obvious compromise.

Initial feedback on the M3 BP hatch seems to be focused on the large C Pillar. It's really just an illusion. The blindspot is about equal the BM/BN's. The collage & the CarBuzz article confirm it.

A simple cheat would be a molded shoulder trim. Pillar would look significantly reduced. Pardon the free hand.[emoji4]

Scratch resistant glossy piano black interior trims? Now that's nice!

Starting with the 2019 Mazda3, Mazda will use a new, two-layer molding for its interior parts. Not only is this more durable than the current high-gloss piano black accent, but because it’s made of plant-based material, it’s more environmentally-friendly too.

I think that's the bioplastic Mazda has developed for both interior & exterior applications....the CX5 KF grille, among em.

When do the actual reviews come out? I'd like to read something other than Mazda's press releases.

Visual reviews aplenty. A good bud even sent over shots live from LA. Stunning in stills, even more in the metal, he said.
No set release dates yet. Europe likely to get em ahead of NA. We'll just have to wait for 1st drive reviews. The only new engine options will be the smaller SkyD & the SkyX. Both unlikely to hit our shores....but who knows?

I meant the in depth reviews from the established car publications, not just car show walkthroughs.

The higher up north you go, the lower the tag. Canada's pricing differs.

Specs vary w/ market. Regardless, from what we've seen Mazda do w/ the BM/BN, even the base gave way more for the money. The BP pushes higher. Curious how Bermaz packages em here.

I really like that 360! I just hope that what we are installing will be similar.

I'm interested. Do you have a website link for the product?
