"not an EVO or STI- but close enough for mature types"---carconnection.com

numbers may tell that's in the same league, but many foreign press said that driving it tells otherwise.

    definitely not equal

    True, its not equal.
The Lancer Evo is a bit lighter and more agile with its shorter wheelbase.
The Mazdaspeed 6 is more refined and less racy for the more mature(?) driver.

its not going to kill an evo nor equal.

if we are talking about the pressured EVO X, rumor that it will have an BMW/Audi like interior finish.

Much as I drool over both the Mazdaspeed 6 and the Evo, I'd like to see the former win a WRC title first before I can even consider them in the same league.

Not equal in terms of performance, but I prefer it over an Evo or an STi.

I read that this Mazdaspeed 6 has the same 2.3L engine as our Mazda 6 here in the Philippines. So basically if we turbocharge our local 6, will it be able to also get 274 HP?

probably, but the MS6's engine has a lower compression, so that it can achieve higher boost levels.

    20mpg? that's like 9.80 something km/L...
aesthecally, Mz6 2.3 sold here looks better than that of the USDM variant...
almost looks like that of the MS version sans the MT, turbo and awd.

50/50 max power split and FWD biased. Not an EVO fighter in my opinion.

WRX and Mitsu is 45/55 max and RWD biased.

its definitely not an Evo or STi fighter. but what it offers is performance for the mature crowd like somebody who is willing to cross-shop from a BMW 3series or Audi A4. After the Turbo Charged Engine and 4WD Drive train the similarities end there.

some pic of the hot Mazdaspeed 6....

Sleek, elegant lines mask the Mazdaspeed 6 sedan's wild side, making it a respectable car to park in the office lot.

Dual exhaust pipes are fitted below the Mazdaspeed 6's rear bumper, and a thin spoiler is mounted on top of the rear deck lid.

Silver pedals and gauge bezels, combined with plenty of red illumination, give the Mazdaspeed 6 an active, sporty look.

The Mazdaspeed 6's upper grille keeps the standard 6's five-point look, while discreetly breathing air to the intercooler.

dang! no manual for any new Mazda car for Phils.

A turbocharged 2.3-liter, inline four-cylinder engine makes the Mazdaspeed 6 the most powerful sedan Mazda has ever sold.

Eighteen-inch wheels and tires come standard on the Mazdaspeed 6.

    MAZDA ROCKS!!!

Actually, kalaban niya sa market will be the Volvo S60 T5 and S60R.

I like it... can't afford it, but I like it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

sayang size ng rims..the spoke design doesnt look sporty at all hence hindi bagay sa mazdaspeed6 IMO.
