"activematic" IS a conventional torque-converter automatic transmission. power loss will be the similar to any other conventional A/T, maybe around 15%

15%... 10%... 20%... it doesnt really matter hehe. hindi mo naman mararamdaman yan e. you won't be able to drive something and say, "this transmission has greater losses than the other one".

sa mga dyno tests sa US, parang lumalabas na 10% loss for manuals and around 15% for matics. although even those figures may be meaningless, since different dynos give different results, and the absolute power output will be influenced by ambient temperature and other conditions. bottom line, specs are secondary to the actual feel of driving the vehicle (unless youre racing, then the specs are secondary to a lap time hehe).

It would have been better if the Activematic shifts in 0.02 just like Audi's Pero our activematic shifts in 0.5secs. Hey, at least its faster than the Hyundai Tiburon's shifting..hahaha. (and so I've heard) And oh, at least our activematic doesnt shift at redline compared to its competitors.

here's the info for your tranny question marv
    Sport AT

Any MAZDA3, MAZDA6 or RX-8 buyer who opts for an automatic transmission will get Mazda's Sport AT. 4-cylinder and rotary equipped models get a 4-speed Sport AT, while a 6-speed version gets connected to the MAZDA6 s' V6.
