hello mga fellow protege owner...

just bought a used protege GLX last week...

1997 ... 1.6, all power automatic transmission...

I believe because i felt the shift that it has a fifth gear...
1st gear 0-20
2nd gear 20-40
3rd gear 40-60
4th gear 60-70
5th gear 70 up
at first.. it was susch a guzzler...5-6 km / liter it ran for 3 days

had it oil change, just a regular oil, but I added 2 bottles of AERO LUBE, 600/bottle sulit, it reduced noise tremendously and made it very responsive. shifts quickly, improved MPG 8-9

I add an air bleeder (available in the market) placed it to the hose closest to the center of manifold. Idle RPM immediately went up from 1,000 to 1,800.
Adjusted the idle RPM from 1,800 to 750

had a full tank of unleaded gas from SEA OIL, 44liter Php2,300
odometer to 0 ZERO

had my daughter practiced on it and we ran for 50km, stops and go.. commonwealth to QC circle, to Quezon Ave. back to commonwealth to ever and st peter,, then back to Quezon Ave. then to visayas ave and eneded up agin to SEA OIL, tandang sora, same gas station where i fiiled it up...

we ran 50kms...

had it filled up again,,,and the meter reads...3.61 liters=Php187

calculated it 50kms/3.61 liters gives us 13.85km /liter

happy about it....
