just hearsay lang po, pero di ba me overheating problem ung vanette?
the powervan is a very good van. we have used it for a long time.
go for the single color va, not the 2 tone. difference is the monotone is CBU unit. so its built in japan then shipped here. it is very reliable. twotone van is philippine assembled. what we heard from friends who have those is they have problems with power and aircon.
whereas our van (monotone) doesnt have those problems.
good for moving heavy loads. very good on going up mountain roads. weare from isabela. were long distance, high and low elevation roads and lots of cargo is what we do everytime. very reliable. and the aircon is cold. didint give us problems except the usual wear and tear.

Oh yeah, I forgot... in line with what baker123 said, my uncle's well-abused 15 year old, still running and never overhauled E2000 is a CBU from Japan (no worry folks, they're original LHD). Amazingly durable compared to L300s, Bestas and the like.
Yes, old Vanettes are very prone to overheating. Later models have no problems at all, because of their revised cooling systems. Our Vanette was driven mostly in traffic. No problem. My Aunt's Vanette was an older one, and it kept overheating until her driver had an extra fan installed. After that, no problem.
True, the 96 Vanette is from one of those years, I think, before they installed the extra radiator fan. You'd have to check the engine carefully for signs of overhaul. If it's still good, haggle down, then spend the money you save to add an auxiliary fan to the radiator.
But in terms of size and space: Lite Ace<Vanette<L300<E2000. No comparison between the E2000 and the Vanette. The Vanette is small.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
You need to ditch the Vanette's third row (the one in between the captain's chairs and the last row) in order to have decent room in the vehicle.
I like the looks of the Vanette better especially with the early 'fanblade' wheels. The Vanette also sports a coolbox up front and a separately opening tailgate glass for small loads. The interior also appers more finished than that of the E2000.
The E2000 however has very convenient dual sliding doors.

Help! I Own a 1998 Mazda E-2000 van with a FE 2000 engine being overhauled. I NEED piston rings and main bushings. They have been impossible to locate. Suggestoins greatfully appreciated.
Try Mazford or Fordland in Banawe, they may carry parts. As a last resort, you could try Kia Columbian (at E.Rodriguez) and see if they have parts that might fit your needs. There is some interchangeability between old Kias and old Mazda vans, but I don't know if Kia sold any gasoline versions of their vans locally... your engine might be similar to the one used in the older Sportage. Best to bring samples to compare to what they have in their stock list.
