My personal experience with battery charger (not CTEK in particular, but industrial charger) is that it helps maintain the charge and in one way or another extends its life. This is the reason why I didn't hesitate to buy CTEK battery charger when one of the expert members here made the suggestion.
magkano na ba ang ctek charger today? i hear, it is pricey.
i have a cheap local panther-brand fully manual charger.
i use it when the battery can't start the car no more. then the next trip is to the battery store.

I paid for less than 6k. I strongly advise anyone to buy a charger, although I can't recommend a particular brand except for CTEK. My reference is one of our expert members' recommendation.

The link can be found in CX-5 topic. I'll see if I can post it here later.

Hey man, have you tried using the CT5 on a convention lead-acid non start/stop battery? Is it just plug n play also?

Hello. Came across a local supplier of Optima AGM Batteries. They are supposed to be better than EFB. Unfortunately, I will have to wait more than a year as I had just changed my start-stop battery (my 3rd, in 3 years!) last month. Optima isn't cheap though but hopefully lasts longer. The Red Top model sells for P 15,400 while the Yellow Top for P 17,600. Recommended for Mazda 6 is the Yellow Top. Pricing in the US on Optima's website is $232 and $271 respectively. The local supplier is Allen Specialty Products along Tomas Morato. I didn't ask if they install and ensure the car's settings are maintained. At least there is an option and not locked into one brand or the casa. Let me know if any have tried an AGM battery in the Philippines and how well adapted it is for tropical use. Thanks.

Go for Optima...its a Spiral Cell Technology AGM Batt....for iStop Skyactivs, check YellowTop D35 SKU: 8040-218.
Ask for the freshest stock. I've seen them here.....But due to price, inventory doesn't move much. Warranty is 36mos in the US for non-commercial light vehicles.
The length should fit the batt tray w/o the OE protective case. Here are the comparative dimensions:
    Optima D35: W=171.45mm L=238.25mm H=195.33mm
    Stock Q85 EFB: W=173㎜ L=222㎜ H=202

We have a Mazda 2/2016, question with regards to the battery, we just got a test report that the battery should be replaced. Would getting a CTEK CT5 prolong the current battery life?

Or should I just purchase a new one then use ctek on new battery?

    Current battery reading is:
    VOLTS - 12.22V
    MEASURED - 124 CCA
    RATING - 355 CCA

    TIA

Scrap my question, wala pala kameng istop. LOL!!!

Answering an old post and hoping to contribute. This is the battery I charged using CTEK.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture during charging. I got an error during charging after 3 hours. I removed the charger and after a few minutes, I connected it to charge again. After several minutes, I saw the LED switch to "charging" and finally to "care".

This is an old battery and I have something on my mind on where to use it.

Buy the CTEK MXS 5.0, it can charge AGM type batteries that are used by Start / Stop and also motorcycle batteries ... Do not buy the CT5 model ... you will not be able to use it to charge standard batteries ... the CT5 is just marketing gimmick ...

Been reading on the CT5. Much better for start/stop with AGM batteries since it doesn't have the 15.8V desulphate feature and recondition which supposedly isn't friendly with such batteries.

Is that a battery charger/conditioner? Can you pre-charge those like a powerbank and keep them in the car for emergencies? Thanks!

Yup a battery charger, trickle charger, stanby (can keep a car's eletronics on, while swapping out a battery)...but it's all 220V plug-in. * Can do Wet, AGM, motorbike, passenger cars, all the way to 24V truck batteries. IIRC it was around 5k at Ace Hardware

Look into CTEK. If yours has the Start/Stop system, grab the CTEK CT5 Start/Stop. Available in Lazada.

I’ve heard good reviews on CTEK. Can the CTEK CT5 be charged like a powerbank?
