March 29th, 2008 10:16 AM #2Mazda R2 original engine nyan. About 70HP 2.2L overhead cam engine. Actually generic engine ito for a lot of vehicle models, one of which is the kia Besta 2.2L van.
A surplus replacement engine I think wouldn't be a problem to find, meron sa Pasay, Evangelista Makati, sa Banawe, Araneta, or sa Blumentritt. About 25K to 30K presyo kasama na tranny at mga accessories like aircon compressor at alternator.
Pwede mo rin lagyan yan ng RF mazda engine at almost the same price.
So better na pasyal ka muna to inquire personally.
Better if you can bring someonebody who knows about diesel engines pati na about Turbos. Ingat ka siguraduhin mong meron syang alam. But generally these are the basic things to watch out:
1. Makapal at Maitim na usok
2. Makapal at Puting usok kahit na warm na engine (maybe normal pag lamig pa makina at newly started)
3. Rough idling
4. remove the oil dipstick, dapat walang tilamsik.
5. remove the filler cap, dapat walang tilamsik at masyadong blowby. silip mo loob ng valve cover using flashlight look for sludge, gummy or thick caramel like deposits
My time is running out.
