ok pa kaya if i get one now? they gave it to me at 1.15m last with free everything na, but what im worried about is th resale value and the reliability of mazda? also the new mazda 6 is going to come out na bka maslalo bumaba yun resale value ng m6 ngayon ?
So far, the only non-periodic maintenance I had to do was replace the battery after 2 years of use. It's obvious that they're dropping the prices because the new one is coming out. This happens to all cars at the end of their selling life-cycle.
As for resale value, I dont really plan to sell the car any time soon so I don't care : )
All I can say is that it's been incredibly reliable.
it's a great car
acceleration and top speed is more than what you'd ask for from a japanese mid-sized sedan. interior styling is a lot better than toyotas or hondas, in my opinion.
well, it's a sporty car too. dont expect to go through bumps and craters on the road easily.
gas consumption-wise, if you step on it, you pay for it. if you drive easily, i think you should be fine but good luck. it's very hard not to squeeze the throttle for more.
here's ours with an aftermarket grill and front chin from a-toy bodykits:

Thanks for your reply jus, you've got a very nice ride! What, then, is the average fuel consumption (city and highway) for your 6? Are spare/replacement parts for the 6 too costly?

i got my 6 last year after seeing it at the manila international motorshow..i got it because of its sporty image and rarity..
the car exceded my expectation, it handles almost like a european, accelerates like a sports car and consumes gas like a diesel fed engine..hehehe kng d mo hahatawin...
for me its a european made in japan..ayos n ayos! no wonder why its the COTY's executive sedan of the year for 2 consecutive years..
bout the parts?..d nmn..tama lang price nya..d mahal magmaintain ng 6..
planning to buy? what color? mine is velocity red..
best bang for the buck car in its price range IMHO. If you plan in getting a 2.4 camry or accord just get the 6. In the 2.4 liter executive sedan class eto na para sa akin ang the best.
I've driven a Mazda 6 when I was in the US. Among the 4 cars that I rented the Mazda 6 is way below my ratings. Didn't like the handling. fuel consumption and shock absorption of the car.
1.) Toyota Camry (sometimes feel ko Hyundai Sonata nasa 1 din eh pero gawin na lang nating 2)
2.) Hyundai Sonata
3.) GM Pontiac Grand Prix
4.) Mazda 6
Didn't like the handling compared to the Camry??? Huh? I can understand not liking the stiff ride... but the Mazda6 handles way better than the Camry.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I'm looking at 2nd units of 2017 model Mazda 6 wagons. I am opting for finance and I plan to pay up to 50% or 60% DP and pay up to 48 months as I cannot pay 800k to 900k in cash yet.
Some questions I have in mind about owning a 2nd hand Mazda 6 wagon:
1. Are they reliable if I intend to keep them for at least 5 to 10 years provided I follow PMS schedules?
2. Are parts readily available if something needs replacing?
3. Are parts not that expensive like Lexuses and Subarus?
4. Are their good shops that can do PMS for this specific car?
I just want to make sure I understand beforehand from other folks here who have Mazda 6 if what it's like to own one and MAINTAIN one.
Hopefully someone can help me on deciding if either I buy a used Mazda 6 wagon or a brand new Honda City RS Hatchback.
I really dream of owning a wagon :D :D :D
I can't answer your questions objectively as my car is relatively new, three years old with less than 60,000 km.
In terms of reliability, one owner has over 200,000 miles. That is approximately 320,000 km and according to him, he only replaced the serpentine belt aside from the regular fluids.
I think parts are readily available and not as expensive compared to other brands. Then again, I haven't experienced yet buying parts.
I am on friendly terms with the tech guys of Mazda and they are willing to do regular maintenance outside their working hours. I don't think there is anything special or specific in terms of maintenance so I think any competent mechanic can do the job.
It's unfortunate that Mazda 6 owners in our forum is inactive. You might want to check mazda6club.com, it's members are dominantly from the US and Canada, a few from the rest of world who can speak English, and those who bothered to learn the language. It's a small community but it's great and forum rules are implemented properly.
Previous owner of a Mazda 6 2.3L (gen 1.5).
As long as you live within major cities, parts isn't a problem thou there are a few harder/longer to get parts.
price wise for the parts is comparable to a Honda and Subaru.
if its just simple PMS madami shops that can service the Mazda.
Mine was also modified but looking for Mods parts for a Mazda is way harder than your typical Honda.
Not sure if the newer models will have the same experience as mine. Since you are looking for the newer mazda 6 wagon.
I would like to point out some Cons of the Mazda 6, Resale value is not good. Considering you will be financing a 2nd hand car, you will end up spending and loosing a lot more money than you might expect.
It also not as fuel efficient as a honda city. Plus its a big, long car. careful when going up very narrow parking garages.
On the plus side, ride quality is top notch, the interior is also very luxurious, and reviews are excellent on its driving dynamics.
The Honda City hatchback RS is overpriced for the specs that it has. Why not consider a Mazda 3 hatchback instead? similar to a mazda 6 wagon.
current price is 1.295m ... before 1.395m ... is it because of a near future facelift? ano siguro dadagdag kung may facelift. sulit pa ba bumili or should i wait for the new one? gandang gana ako sa style nya e especially the rims ( i like it better than clover type na nasa states right now)
for the current mzda 6 owners... madali lang ba lagyan ng aux in? totoo bang 4 speakers lang ito and no tweeter pa?
sorry dami tanong haha im choosing between this one or a 2.0SL civic. yeah i know its a diff category pero lapit n lang kasi ng price e.
IMO... the Mazda6 is very much worth it although a new one will be available by late next year.
Try to book a test drive with a Mazda dealer to get a feel of it.
