    djerms,

caloyski has a familia a/t. the gas consumption is just something to be desired. for the m/t it is around 7km/L.

so far, the familia doesn't have any major problems. it had a idling hiccup before (it seems that lancers and sentras also have a similar problem) but it magically went away. hehe.

parts isn't really a problem as we have a few suki shops in banawe.

    Mazdamazda,
Really? Sige, I hope that the test drive this afternoon turns out well. Wala po kasi akong alam sa mga cars eh. Diesel na po kasi ang kinagisnan ko. Sa tune-ups ba mawawala ang mga hiccups na yan. As far as I remember (ive driven the car several times na kasi before), there may parang lag ang makina before when I depress the gas pedal.

If it's a good price... go for it. With this you'll have 2nd car (quite practical nowadays)... the pick-up for daily and hakot use para matipid then use the Mazda for trips to the mall, out of town with family, etc...

Big factor here that works to your advantage is that you know the owner and how it was used.

    Vinj,
Yup. Mura lang benta sa akin. Php150.00 lang po. How much po ba ang tune-ups ng kotse? When I get the vehicle, what should I check and have replaced?

    tune-up is around P500.

check for the condition of the fanbelts. then for the suspension components. be on the look out on the condition of the tranny. but otherwise it is a good buy for 150K. the savings that you'll get can be used for the repairs and maintenance of your car.

and after you get your car, kindly drop by www.protegetech.org to have a more detailed info about your car.

    hi djerms,

like what mazdamazda said, i drive a familia a/t. fuel consumption is on the 5 (lowest) to as high as 6.5 km/l..i have compared this already to my uncle's rolla ae101 a/t and sentra gts a/t. imo, my mazda feels faster..regarding the parts, its a matter of knowing where to buy and have your car repaired. i suggest bringing it to kia commonwealth to have everything diagnosed for repairs and stuff. look for francis casim, a good friend of PTP. parts and service manager siya dun. i drive a 97 model purchased new on 99 btw with 57k km on the odometer. . major parts that i have replaced are thermostat and radiator hose. of course the spark plugs, fan belts, air cleaner, oil filter kasama. mga nasira dahil hindi ko sinusunod yung "dont fix what aint broke" theory..countless wheel studs, speedo gauge, door lock mechanism, and a few others. regarding the a/t tranny, i have yet to encounter problems with mine. shift shock is a bit strong pero applying the right amount of gas lessens the shock.

like what i mentioned before in another thread, i had a chance to choose my daily driver..a 95 316i US model or the mazda. i chose the mazda. the bmw is a good car but the mazda won me over. its discreet, sporty, and good value for money. plus, once you get a chance to purchase mazdaspeed parts, you'll get more addicted to your mazda. hehehe sarap ng feeling pag maka discover ng hard to find parts!

    hth.

May slight problem lang po dun sa mazda when i looked at it yesterday. May blinking annoying "hold" light sa panel. Sabi ng uncle ko baka electrical lang. All else is in A1 condition. New engine supports, new paint, new tires, etc. etc.

Ano ano po ba ang mga mazdaspeed parts? I'm getting excited na ah....
