GUYS, did any of you check your tail lights recently? i noticed my CX7's tail lights partly "MELTED"!! both have a hole the size of a peso coin melted on both tail lights! I reported this to mazda makati and they're investigating it. I also noticed other CX7 on the road with partly melted lights just like mine. You can easily notice it when u turn on ur night lights. I think this is a design flaw and I told the service manager that they should recall these units since the melted plastic can easily become fire hazard.

If you experience the same problems, try to contact -

Guys, I started a new thread for those who also have melted tail lights problems..I think we should air this concern as a group especially for those whose warranty have expired..Im certain your tail lights melted long before you could notice them..Had I not been told by my brother who rode in another car behind, I wouldn't have noticed such melted tail lights..This surely is a design flaw which mazda should rectify instead of using warranty excuses. If you want to see pics of my melted lights, just send me ur email since im unfamiliar with posting pics thru URL in this forum.. heres my email richardreyan*yahoo.com..thanks

Same problem with our Mazda cx7 2010. We're pushing Mazda q ave to do something about it despite lapse of warranty as this is car defect and a fire hazard!

yes, that should be replaced for free.. i consider this a design defect... a perfect excuse to shift to LEDs, after the tail lights are replaced.

2011 CX-7 owner here. Hmm...I also have a problem with my tail lights but I think it's a different one. May parang white foam debris sa loob...I've been seeing other CX-7s on the road with the same problem. Any idea what this is and how to resolve it? Pwede bang butasan na lang at i-vacuum yung debris? Mahal yata ang tail light replacement eh. Thanks!

That is the reason why I sold my CX7. 2x na ako nag palit ng tail lights at nag melt pa din yung inner plastic part.

Another way is palit ka ng bulb into LED type.

Yun din ang iniisip ko eh. LED bulb na lang. Anyone here know of a shop that can remove the front cover of the tailight para malinis?

Ah iyan pala iyong napapansin ko sa mga cx 7 pag nasa likod ako pag gabi. Something looks amiss kasi sa tail lights

Hindi pala na ayos ng mazda 'to considering ilang yrs na din ang thread. Looks like led lights nga ang solution jan. I Hope maayos sya

to be or not to be, that always confuses me!

Yup. If you notice, di pula yung ilaw ng buong brake light kasi melted na sa top and bottom yung red reflector housing so tumatagas yung white light dun sa butas. I need to find red LED brake lights na 7443. Any ideas where to find these?

This is obviously a design flaw and I'm quite surprised Mazda didn't extend warranty on these taillights.
