My alternator needs replacement/repair. If id try to have my battery charged and use it knowing that alternator is not working, if battery gets drained while driving, does that automatically mean, i need my battery replaced too since it is not good to have it discharged?

Fully draining the battery will shorten it's life but a couple of times will not destroy it yet.

Its better to have your alternator repair so you have a peace of mind anywere you go you will not be stalled. Specially at night were you use your headlight.
