What j*sto describes is similar to what used to happen with my X-Trail ('93 250X -automatic climate control). I would leave the air intake switch set to recirculate (light on). Then I turn on the air conditioning by pressing Auto. But after about 20 minutes or so, the air intake would automatically turn off. I noticed this because I could smell the exhaust of the vehicles outside, so I would press the air intake switch again. I brought this up with Nissan Motors Phil. since I knew the marketing manager, and he said that it was really supposed to work that way. I found it a hassle.
However, with the CX-7, my experience is different. I leave both the air intake selector and the A/C switches on (orange lights are lit). When I start the car both are lit and when I press Auto on, both lights remain lit all the time; whether its a short trip to Makati or even further to Tagaytay.
I reread the owner's manual and it says that that's the way its supposed to work. Section 6-10 reads:
By pressing the AUTO switch the following functions will be automatically controlled in accordance with the selected set temperature:
• Airflow temperature
• Amount of airflow
• Selection of airflow mode
• Outside/Recirculated air selection
• Air conditioner operation
The only thing I adjust is the temperature (21 in the daytime or 23 at night). Other than that I just push the Auto On or Off switch.
does anybody in the thread knows where could i find this gadget locally? our cx7 is not equipped with usb nor an ipod interface, so i thought that this is the best option to enjoy our iphone/ ipod playlists.
this comes with a remote which can be attached on the steering wheel. utilizing the aux input makes a better sound than FM modulated output. Most of the available alternatives from local apple stores are made by Belkin and none of them has the remote control option.

Hi, I've been reading this thread for a while and almost all posts are very informative and helpful especially to people like me who is currently on the look for a new ride... and hopefully its a CX7! =)
Me and my wife just came from a Mazda branch which is very popular in this threadto make our first inquiry about the car. I was told by the SA that the CX7 is a CBU made in Japan.. is this true? I would just like to confirm this because I am just curious how come it is not priced like the Rav4 which is also a CBU from Japan which is priced a little more than 2M?
I just want to check how much insurance did you guys pay for your CX-7. Anyone of you got the insurance outside the dealer? Thanks for the advice.
got my comprehensive insurance from the dealer. it cost me P28,800. i would have wanted to get it outside as it was about P3,000 cheaper![]()

What's you insurance pala?
sir niteman, musta na? Sorry, 'been very busy hence i was not able to attend Montero Club early organizer's meeting, but i supposed the team did a great job forming the club!
re CX7, i would definitely recommend it! yup CBU from japan. But you have to compare it with RAV4 2WD since CX7 has only 1 variant here and that is only the 2WD, which is priced almost the same. but value is more...since it comes with leather seats, side/curtain airbags, DCS/TCS, mid, cruise control and much more luxurious interior.
29k for me including acts of god coverage.....wala pa policy ko sa akin, chinabank is the broker.
