The way you say it, it's more of like, "it is safe to modify and customize it". I've been itching to try the "illumination" for the lock/unlock switch. Well, I got used to it by touching it. It is indeed a discipline...

By the way, I finally got the name of the "Pentel pen" that I use to hide scratches. It is MANTIS SCRATCH REPAIR PEN. It won't remove the scratch, it just "hide" it (I think someone asked about it here, or perhaps in another thread, I forget).

With these Ms, a big part of the fun is in driving. The other? The caring, tinkering & making it yours.[emoji4]

I couldn't agree more with the fun of driving the M3! I always look forward driving the M3 despite the horrendous traffic conditions!

As for taking care of the car's paint, the ceramic coating made it much easier to clean the car. Hopefully with the proper washing practices, I'll be able to keep the car swirl and scratch free for years.

Thanks so much for putting my mind at ease Sir Travs and Sir Jojo

    - It is a bit of a hassle if the door lock isnt illuminated but will learn to adjust the window switch illumination mod looks really interesting, but im not really competent when it comes to diy stuff hehe. it's good to know it is possible

    - gonna start using shell fuelsave from this point moving forward

    - the strong exhaust smell is no longer there, made a reply to update my statement but it takes some time to approve since i only have a few posts under my belt. i think it was probably a break-in smell or because it was due to the fuel tank close to empty when we got the car and took some time for us to reach a shell station.

    - the car was shaking despite i-stop being turned off, probably again because of above reason. glad to inform that it is no longer observable after driving the m3 the next day

    - yup actually already purchased the plate relocator from sir travs before the car was released. installed without any problems and really does make the car even more eye catching. i was talking about the door scuff plates, had the chance to look at it more closely and it seems to have double sided tape for an easy install but will just coordinate with the dealer so that they would be installed correctly.

    thanks again sirs

on another note, what car covers are you guys using? bought a fuzion hatchback L cover from blade auto and it's pretty good but not exactly a perfect fit.

I've read somewhere here that most do not recommend a car cover. Unless you are in a similar situation like mine. You know, cats...

Car covers can potentially cause some fine scratches on the car paint.

But with Archerfish's case, a car cover is necessary. Perhaps a cat repelant spikes from Daison would be good to have also [emoji16]

    Hi, everyone [emoji4]

It has been a long time - again! I've been back-reading the past 2 days (err... nights?) and it's so nice to see many are joining and posting!

Our M3 is stuck at 3,500-ish kilometers (2nd PMS should be on or before April 7). Hubby and I have been out of the country; and have used my dad's Fortuner (kasi diesel; hihi) the past week.

Anyway, this is my story to tell:

When we got home from aborad, I rushed to check on our baby. Engine start felt usually good, but the brakes seemed to have locked up. A slight press to the accelerator didn't move it. I started to panic.

I asked hubby to bring it back to life... He revved it close to 2,000 rpm then there came a huge CLANK. It must have been the washing before leaving, he said.

Any thoughts? Is there any action required to prevent any problem stemming from that incident?

    Thanks [emoji4]

P.S. Mr. T, it's really nice reading your posts [emoji4]

Could be the automatic braking system or hand brake got stuck after the car wash. How many days was the car garaged?

    Close to 3 weeks, Mr. J [emoji4]

Its last full tank was on January 19; didn't use it the following week; and its last use was on January 31...

WelcoM3 back. Before letting the car sit after a wash, run it til rotors are dry to prevent corrosion. Park on level & leave e-brake off to prevent seizing.[emoji4]

Thanks, Mr. T! Such an enlightenment... Won't do it next time.

That was on me, actually. I wanted us to wash it before preparing to leave for the airport [emoji16]

But I remember watching hubby doing some maniobra in front of the house before parking it rear end first (not the usual practice). I thought he just wanted to leave it with its front facing the garage; so when we come back, it will be a pleasant sight! [emoji16]

Please list down your top 3.

Here are my issues with my M3R:

    1. Break pedal hiss and thud - I don't think there's anything wrong with the break system. The hiss and thud are just annoying sometimes.
    2. Driver seating alignment - It's slightly to the right of the steering wheel, instrument cluster and HUD.
    3. Road noise from the R18 Dunlop Sport Maxx wheels - No surprise here. They look good though.
    4. Delay in the release of the navigation SD card - It's been 2 months already.
    5. Paint chips on the hood - So far, I have had 4 1mm diameter chips on the hood's Soul Red Crystal color.

Although not my issue, a friend had to change his Mazda 6's deep-cycle battery after 2 years. It cost him around P13K.

On the flip side, here's a list of what I like about my M3R:

    1. Yojin 3 Total Care - Nothing beats this!
    2. Smooth & responsive drive - Pure driving pleasure!
    3. Nicely laid out dashboard - Simple, effective, easy on my eyes.
    4. Infotainment Commander Control - Easy to use. Ergonomically located. Music, Communications, Settings - all at the tip of my fingers.
    5. Soul Red Crystal color - My car is always a stand-out at all parking lots. Almost everyone says the color is so beautiful.
    6. Excellent service - From my sales agent and service advisor at Mazda Alabang.

Looks like we share the same pet peeve. I often notice this when driving over steep speed bumps which are very common at my daily route. Also noticeable when frequently stepping on the brake pedal on a horrendous traffic flow along C5.

I wasn't able to have this issue checked yet at the casa.

Sirs, speaking of aftermarket modifications. Does changing the headlights of V from Halogen to LED, void the warranty?
