    Hi All,

I need help on deciding which car to get before the year ends.
Considering between Mazda 3 2.0 R or the 1.8 E Civic. (RS Turbo is out of reach :P)

Space wise, civic got a big plus but everything else seems Mazda
Price wise I would say the same cause of the Youjin 3?

I believe in no way the 3 is not a good buy, but with the news of an all-new model around the corner, which do you think would be better at this point?

Both are good & able cars.
Skyactiv engineering has given combustion engine a new lease on life, a 2nd chance, when everyone is digging into alternatives. It has given Mazda the freedom to avoid going CVT to achieve its fuel economy numbers. Tranny-wise? It's the best in its class.
Personally, we did not have the luxury of the current Civic option 3years back....Opted for our 1st Mazda. A 1.5 silver 3hatch. But last year, we did..the BN 3 still came out the stronger-drawing candidate.....muted the noises & opted for our 2nd Mazda...a Tit-Flash 2hatch this time.
Then again, I'm among the dying breed of foolish who, in times of thought vs emotion conflicts, would opt to be heart-biased......
    Don't listen to me.[emoji16]

    Hi sirs/maams-
Im planning to get M3 HB 1.5 variant this coming month. However i find the color choices too limited. I inquired in 2 different dealerships and i got conflicting assertions. Is it true that soul red, metallic grey and eternal blue are available for the TOTL only?
I sent email inquiry to Mazda Ph but no reply yet. TIA.

    The 2.0 M3 & the 1.8Civic aren't an apple4apple comparison.
Both sides have long threads on these 2. This....a continuation of the 2014 Mazda 3. Those here will say 3, the other will say Civic.
Bottom line? Your wants, needs & personal preference. I'd always go for which excites more.....from an established pattern? The heart's choice never bores......stays w/ me longer.[emoji4]

Hi, SE. Not sure with the tire's load rating. I'll try to look that up.

But yeah, stupid me for not even checking it the first time I felt something's different...

It's not uncommon to see high tire pressures from the factory or storage lots. This is to prevent permanent tire flat-spotting. Dealerships are supposed to do pressure correction upon delivery.

Confirmed....Tire pressure from factory is indeed set at around 50 & deflated to proper specs during PDI.

We can only guess what happened.[emoji4]
    High temp upon reading?
Faulty gauge? I once filled up at a tire shop w/ 1 that gave 7psi more than its gauge read..... instant ride-change.
    Or human error?
Ideal to check pressures when tires are cold.

Last weekend my 2 month old front right tire was severely damaged..
So I was looking for same dunlop 215/45 18 tire but to no avail, all shops along west ave qc, called dunlop warehouse and has no stocks for that tire size and model.
so I am now looking at other brands/model.

Is it fine if I get another brand/model for that single tire replacement?
no long time effect on suspension or transmission?

Sorry to hear this, sir. How many kms clocked on 2mo old tires?
Ideally, we'd want 4 tires that behave the same, w/ uniform accelerating/braking/cornering/traction characteristics wet & dry/hot & cold, for predictability. If any of these are different at one or more corners, traction can vary and performance will not be balanced. On worse cases of non-uniformity, it can affect what the speed sensors read & alter how our traction control functions.
Your options? Try asking the dealership...It won't be hobo. 2nd? Try scouring the classifieds for a slightly used 1 of same model & put the current rears in front. You might get lucky. A lot have upsized or gone aftermarket. The 3rd & probably the last option, which isn't really ideal, is to grab 2 same tires for the same axle.
Grabbing 1 different tire will make the car run, yes.....and, If you're not cursed w/ OCD like many here, you might be able to ignore the felt, heard & seen differences....
....But like what Meatloaf repeatedly sang in 1 of his classics...."No, I won't do that."[emoji4]
