Yeah, love the 6 speed matic of my mazda but i’m thinking 8 speed is better? At 120kph it’s already at 2krpm but im not complaining, mazda engine is happy revving over 2krpm... zooming insinde the lane then zooming outside... ahhh... ohhhh.... what a nice feeling...

More gears were meant for 2 things...
-Allow smaller, more economical engines to power larger vehicles.
-improve the efficiency of existing engines.
Mazda never went miniature engines....& the Skyactiv G, D & now the X have all been answering the efficiency call w/o needing the CVT & all those extra gears. Gotta admit they sound 'modern', though...having a lot of extra gears.[emoji4]

The 6th in our old stick is seldom thrown. I never find the need beyond 6 in Skyactivs.

My wife gets the goosebumps whenever I do this hehe. Perhaps because of the engine roar, you can really hear it inside the cabin.

    2019 Mazda3 G20 0-100km/h & engine sound - YouTube

This is the one we’re getting right?

9.5 seconds 0-100km/h. With all the talk of zoom zoom, sound of engine roar and whatnot, its kind of slow. Some subcompacts with 1.5L engine are faster...

They need to bring the 2.5L here.
