Thing w/ Skyactivs, they share so many parts across the entire range. Stock steering can be retained. One can even opt for a Miata ND-specific aftermarket wheel that takes the bag. It has to be mated w/ the proper back cover w/ paddle slots. I haven't checked, but a BN3 rear cover can probably replace that on the 9. Mod is bolt on & reversible. No splices.
I opted to use some of the racing wheels long stored in my parts bin. I need the legroom for the nagging left knee & back (both basketball injuries). It's really no different from driving some of the old cars w/o airbags we still keep. Plus, once you've tried smaller diameter steering, you'll tend to find stock ones too large.[emoji4]
Still, this isn't, by any means, a justification nor a recommendation to go SRS-delete w/o the proper belt harness in place.

Before I sold my 2005 Innova after 12 years of heavily using it, I never changed its water pump.
